This Friday, legendary filmmaker TIM BURTON will host a once-in-a-lifetime online masterclass.

At its upcoming, exclusive, and one-night-only virtual “Tim Burton’s Master Class,” Toybox Projects Sdn. Bhd. is thrilled to announce that fans of Tim Burton will have the opportunity to delve deeply into the thoughts and personal archive of one of cinema’s most revered and legendary filmmakers, Tim Burton, with special guest moderator, YBhg. Dato’ Kamil Othman, Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia. (FINAS).

The legendary filmmaker was scheduled for a physical masterclass in Kuala Lumpur last March 2023. However, after testing COVID-19 positive prior to his departure, the masterclass was inevitably postponed. After a much-awaited recovery, Tim Burton is ecstatic to meet his fans virtually this coming 14 April 2023 (Friday), from 9.00 p.m. (GMT+8 Malaysia time) onwards via an online platform that is soon to be announced (a link will be provided prior to the event).

Brought to you by Toybox Projects, the world-class pop-up museum, and exhibition, The World of Tim Burton, recently debuted in Malaysia for the first time on 21 March 2023 and will be available to the publicuntil 30 July 2023. To celebrate this auspicious occasion, Tim Burton, famous for films such as Alice in Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory,  and the recent hit TV series Wednesday, will tell his story on the art of films, his unique creative processes, and the road to becoming a prominent household name in the entertainment and film industry.

Toybox Projects aims to contribute to the Malaysian entertainment industry by bringing the world-class pop-up museum “The World of Tim Burton” and the virtual “Tim Burton’s Masterclass” for current and aspiring filmmakers, creatives, young adults, and students of the film and art industry.  With this, Tim Burton and Dato’ Kamil Othman hope to inspire current and aspiring filmmakers, creatives as well as students in Malaysia by providing knowledge, creative input, film tips, and tricks,  to drive individuals to achieve their aspirations and develop quality films and artworks; showcasing what Malaysia has to offer to the rest of the world.
