Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2022 – The formal joint venture partnership between local Precision Metal Parts Manufacturer-Metalmach Micro Technology (MMT) and Auxiliary Materials partner from China-Future Hover Industrial Co., Ltd (Future Hover) to spend RM1 billion in making Malaysia the ideal destination for semiconductor exports in Southeast Asia and the globe was graced by YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Both sides will work together to integrate cutting-edge technology and resources as part of this partnership in order to provide the industry with a one-stop shop. This is accomplished by bringing together under one roof Future Hover’s very competitive consumables and auxiliary materials, its competence in semiconductor testing and packaging, and MMT’s 40 years of experience in precision machining, mould dies, and semiconductor development.
The Malaysian brand and its Chinese counterpart will spend RM1 billion together to produce RM10 billion in export income over the following ten years, commencing with the construction of an all-inclusive and complete plant in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. This will function as a centre for local and international suppliers to obtain more competitive commodities in shorter lead times, creating more than 500 employment in the region. In doing so, the two parties seek to give technical training and in-depth industrial knowledge in order to contribute to the development of a large population of skilled employees in Negeri Sembilan and our country.
Ms. Guan Mei Ying, General Manager of Future Hover, commented saying, “Malaysia serves as an ideal location for us to anchor in the Southeast Asia region not only because of its supportive government but also factors such as the educated workforce, strategic location, and developed infrastructure that can most definitely bring a huge impact to our operations. While this collaboration will indefinitely result in a multitude of job opportunities for Malaysians, I look forward to seeing the greatness that we can achieve together as a result of combining the knowledge, expertise, and resources of two great nations.”
At the press conference, it was disclosed that MMT has the chance to build its footprint in the Chinese market through this partnership, providing current services to regional industrial participants and boosting demand for Malaysian goods and services while also boosting export sales.
Mr. Low Kim Yoong, Operations Director of MMT, said, “With the increasing demand and tremendous expansion of the semiconductor sector within Southeast Asia, this collaboration will not only strengthen the position of both companies within the region but also enhance Malaysia’s already favorable position in the supply chain and enable our beloved country to be the priority choice for semiconductor production globally. This joint venture collaboration will enable us to handle everything from the front end to the back end of semiconductor assembly, making us one of the strongest players in the semiconductor industry supply chain.”
“We look forward to providing superior support and cost-efficient solutions for industry players across the globe as well as contributing to the growth of our nation, with the commencement of this joint venture collaboration,” he concluded.
Ms. Guan Mei Ying was unable to physically attend the formal signing ceremony due to the lockdowns in China; as a result, Mr. Alfred Foo, Business Director (Malaysia) of Future Hover, who diligently laboured to create a successful cooperation between the two parties, was chosen to stand in for the general manager of Future Hover at the main event.
