Pada Februari 2025, Indeks Harga Pengeluar (IHPR) Malaysia meningkat sebanyak 0.3% tahun ke tahun, lebih perlahan berbanding kenaikan 0.8% pada Januari. Pertumbuhan sederhana ini didorong oleh peningkatan sektor pertanian, perhutanan & perikanan, dengan subsektor penanaman tanaman mencatatkan lonjakan 26.1%. Namun, sektor perlombongan mengalami kemerosotan sebanyak 9.7%, terutamanya disebabkan oleh kejatuhan harga dan pengeluaran dalam pengekstrakan petroleum mentah serta gas asli. Sektor pembuatan turut menyusut sebanyak 0.3%, dengan penurunan ketara dalam industri produk petroleum bertapis dan peralatan elektronik.
Secara bulanan, IHPR mencatatkan kenaikan kecil 0.1% pada Februari 2025 berbanding 0.3% pada Januari. Sektor pertanian, perhutanan & perikanan pulih dengan pertumbuhan 1.4%, selepas mengalami kejatuhan pada bulan sebelumnya. Sektor pembuatan kekal stabil dengan peningkatan 0.3%, disokong oleh pertumbuhan dalam industri makanan dan petroleum. Sebaliknya, sektor perlombongan jatuh 3.2%, dengan kejatuhan dalam subsektor gas asli dan petroleum mentah. Dalam sektor utiliti, bekalan elektrik & gas meningkat 0.3%, manakala bekalan air mengalami penurunan 1.8%.
Di peringkat global, perbandingan IHPR menunjukkan trend berbeza antara negara. Amerika Syarikat mencatat kenaikan 3.2%, Jepun meningkat 4.0%, manakala China terus mengalami deflasi dengan penurunan harga pengeluar sebanyak 2.2%. Ini menunjukkan ketidakseimbangan dalam pemulihan ekonomi global dan kesan turun naik harga komoditi utama.
Dari sudut harga komoditi di Malaysia, purata harga minyak mentah Brent turun kepada $75 setong akibat tekanan bekalan dari negara OPEC+. Sebaliknya, harga minyak sawit mentah (MSM) meningkat kepada RM4,759 per tan, dipacu oleh permintaan tinggi dan pengurangan stok akibat faktor cuaca. Penurunan bekalan minyak sawit untuk bulan kelima berturut-turut juga memberi kesan kepada kenaikan harga.

Dua persatuan utama yang mewakili artis dan komposer, iaitu Karyawan dan 3P Muzik, memainkan peranan penting dalam merangka garis panduan baharu bersama badan pengutip royalti sedia ada bagi memperkemaskan pengurusan royalti muzik di negara ini. Karyawan mewakili golongan artis, manakala 3P Muzik lebih menumpukan kepada komposer.
Selepas beberapa pusingan perbincangan, garis panduan ini akhirnya dirumuskan dan diumumkan oleh Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, pada 17 Mac 2025. Namun, pengumuman tersebut sedikit tercemar dengan ketidakhadiran tiga daripada lima badan royalti berlesen di bawah MyIPO, iaitu MACP, PPM, dan RPM. Tindakan mereka dilihat sebagai satu bentuk protes terhadap garis panduan baharu yang diperkenalkan.
Ketiga-tiga badan ini kemudian mengeluarkan kenyataan bersama, meminta agar garis panduan tersebut dikaji semula selepas rundingan lanjut dijalankan. Walau bagaimanapun, Karyawan dan 3P Muzik berpandangan bahawa garis panduan ini perlu dilaksanakan bagi melindungi kepentingan pencipta karya, khususnya komposer dan penghibur. Menurut mereka, pihak yang paling mendapat manfaat sekiranya garis panduan ini tidak dilaksanakan ialah syarikat rakaman dan penerbit yang selama ini didakwa memonopoli operasi badan royalti.
Presiden Karyawan, Dato’ Freddie Fernandez, menyifatkan garis panduan ini sebagai langkah positif ke arah lebih ketelusan dan akauntabiliti dalam pengurusan royalti. Menurutnya, banyak aduan diterima daripada pengguna muzik seperti stesen penyiaran, hotel, dan pusat membeli-belah mengenai keperluan membayar berulang kali untuk penggunaan lagu yang sama. Oleh itu, mereka mencadangkan agar Malaysia mengadaptasi sistem yang digunakan di UK, Australia, dan New Zealand, di mana pengguna hanya perlu berurusan dengan satu badan kutipan royalti yang menyelaras bayaran untuk semua pihak berkepentingan.
Pelaksanaan sistem ini dijangka membawa beberapa manfaat utama. Antaranya, ia dapat mengurangkan kos operasi kerana hanya satu badan diperlukan, berbanding lima badan sedia ada yang secara kolektif menelan belanja puluhan juta ringgit setahun. Dengan penyusunan semula ini, lebih banyak dana boleh disalurkan kembali kepada artis dan komposer, atau berpotensi menurunkan kadar bayaran royalti kepada pengguna. Selain itu, pemantauan dan kawal selia oleh kerajaan juga akan menjadi lebih mudah dengan hanya satu badan sebagai rujukan utama.
Dalam acara yang berlangsung di Hotel Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur, para artis dan penghibur menyatakan sokongan penuh terhadap usaha mewujudkan sistem “lesen muzik tunggal” yang lebih adil dan telus. Mereka turut menyuarakan kebimbangan terhadap sistem sedia ada yang didakwa memberi kelebihan kepada pihak tertentu dalam badan royalti. Antara isu yang dibangkitkan adalah struktur perlembagaan badan-badan tersebut, sistem pengundian dalam pemilihan Lembaga Pengarah, serta tahap ketelusan dalam operasi mereka yang menimbulkan pelbagai persoalan di kalangan ahli.
Sokongan terhadap garis panduan baharu ini menunjukkan kesepakatan dalam kalangan artis dan komposer untuk memastikan hak mereka dilindungi, sekaligus mewujudkan ekosistem industri muzik yang lebih berdaya maju dan harmoni.
Pada 27 Mac 2025, Baba Nyonya House di Hub SS2, Petaling Jaya menjadi saksi kepada Majlis Iftar dan Sidang Media yang dianjurkan oleh Rumah Produksi Merah di bawah kepimpinan Dato’ Awie dan Dato’ Eddy Amir Salim. Acara ini diadakan sebagai tanda penghargaan kepada pihak yang telah memberi sokongan dalam menjayakan projek-projek syarikat, termasuk wakil media yang memainkan peranan penting dalam liputan serta promosi.

Di samping itu, perancangan sedang dibuat untuk membawa Wings ke London bagi mengadakan persembahan khas, bergantung kepada kelulusan pihak berkaitan. Menurut Dato’ Awie, perjalanan empat dekad dalam industri merupakan satu pencapaian yang luar biasa, dan acara ini bakal menjadi penghargaan buat peminat setia yang terus memberi sokongan tanpa henti.
Turut diumumkan ialah perancangan untuk mengadakan Konsert Tribute, di mana Dato’ Awie akan menyampaikan semula lagu-lagu popular dari era 60-an, 70-an, dan 90-an. Sebagai pelengkap kepada konsert ini, sebuah album khas akan diterbitkan, dengan sebahagian daripada hasil royalti disalurkan kepada penyanyi asal atau waris mereka sebagai penghormatan terhadap legasi muzik mereka.
Dalam dunia penyiaran, Rumah Produksi Merah kini sedang menjalankan penggambaran drama bersiri 20 episod untuk RTM, menampilkan pelakon seperti Hazama dan Roi Azman. Walaupun tajuk drama masih belum didedahkan, ia dijangka memberikan impak besar apabila ditayangkan.
Selain itu, satu dokumentari khas mengenai perjalanan 40 tahun Wings dalam industri muzik turut dirancang. Dokumentari ini akan mengetengahkan kisah jatuh bangun kumpulan legenda ini, memberi perspektif mendalam kepada peminat dan generasi baharu mengenai cabaran serta pencapaian mereka. The highly anticipated Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR) is set to open its doors next week to global automotive industry professionals. From 31 March to 2 April 2025, the event will take place at the newly inaugurated Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center (CIECC) in Beijing, covering an expansive 80,000 sqm exhibition space. With 1,186 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge products, technologies, and solutions, alongside 39 fringe events focused on critical topics such as intelligent technology, talent development, and global collaboration, AMR aims to facilitate trade, knowledge exchange, and talent cultivation, driving the industry toward a smarter, more innovative, and sustainable future.

AMR will also host 39 high-profile forums, conferences, and events, offering participants opportunities to explore emerging trends in the aftermarket industry. Key forums include the Automotive Aftermarket Conference on 30 March, which will address global cooperation, the development of internal combustion engines (ICEs) and electric vehicles, and industry chain collaboration. Other forums will focus on international market expansion, new profit ecosystems for traditional and new energy vehicles, and supply chain channels in the aftermarket.
On 31 March, the Belt and Road Aftermarket Cross-Border Cooperation Seminar will delve into macroeconomic trends and market opportunities in the automotive sector, with speakers from China-Africa Development Fund and representatives from Uzbekistan, Kenya, and Egypt.
With the ongoing shortage of skilled talent in the aftermarket industry, the Global Pathways for Automotive Service Talent Forum will bring together leading companies and international certification bodies to discuss training models, digital transformation, and global workforce development.
