    Maxim Malaysia has reaffirmed its operational stability nationwide after officially receiving a final approval letter from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to continue its e-hailing services across all states. The approval marks the completion of a three-month monitoring period, during which Maxim successfully demonstrated full compliance with regulatory requirements set by the authorities. This milestone signals the platform’s readiness to operate legally and confidently within Malaysia’s e-hailing ecosystem.

    During a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Mushfique Ahmed, Legal Compliance & Government Relations representative for Maxim Malaysia, highlighted the company’s focus throughout the monitoring period. Key efforts included strengthening the legalization process, providing financial and informational support for drivers, enhancing safety features, building an inclusive community, and expanding the company’s social responsibility initiatives. These actions were undertaken to ensure that Maxim not only meets regulations but continues improving its operations for both passengers and driver-partners.

    Throughout the compliance period, Maxim submitted all required reports and implemented several structural improvements that contributed to achieving full driver licensing compliance. The company conducted an internal audit of PSV and eVP licences, updated its driver onboarding procedures, and introduced more rigorous inspection protocols. Additional support included financial assistance of up to RM400 for new drivers and a 0% commission incentive for newly approved driver-partners. Maxim also strengthened its collaboration with driving schools, offering drivers a fast-track PSV licensing process with full cost coverage.

    Maxim also introduced new safety measures designed to elevate the passenger experience. These include women-only ride options in selected East Coast cities, upgraded SOS button functions for faster emergency response, and the distribution of child seats to top-performing drivers in Terengganu. The company expanded its support for Persons with Disabilities (OKU) by implementing 0% commission for OKU drivers and enhancing service features tailored to OKU customers.     Di Malaysia, semua pemandu e-hailing diwajibkan melengkapkan kursus PSV serta menjalani pemeriksaan perubatan di institut memandu bertauliah. Proses ini penting bagi memastikan pemandu dilatih dengan betul dan berada dalam keadaan kesihatan yang sesuai demi keselamatan penumpang. Namun, kos keseluruhan proses ini lazimnya berjumlah sekitar RM250 dan mengambil masa antara satu hingga dua minggu untuk diselesaikan.

    Bagi meringankan beban tersebut, Maxim Malaysia akan membayar balik sepenuhnya yuran PSV dan kos pemeriksaan perubatan kepada pemandu baharu setelah mereka menyerahkan resit rasmi kepada wakil Maxim. Bayaran balik ini akan dikreditkan terus ke dalam akaun Taxsee Driver dalam bentuk bonus. Pemandu baharu juga dapat menikmati kelebihan tambahan apabila mereka boleh mula menerima tempahan di platform Maxim tanpa dikenakan caj komisen. Komisen hanya akan ditolak secara automatik daripada baki bonus tersebut, membolehkan mereka menyimpan 100% daripada pendapatan awal mereka sehingga baki digunakan sepenuhnya.

    “I would like to confirm that Maxim has shown full commitment to resolving this matter by adhering to our instructions and submitting all relevant documents,” said Puan Masita Binti Mat Isa, Deputy Director General of APAD. “We are reviewing the case, and we hope to see all e-hailing platforms, including Maxim, continue contributing to the growth of a balanced and fair digital economy. A competitive market is crucial for the advancement of the industry.”

    Maxim emphasized that only legally certified drivers those with valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and E-Hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP) licenses are allowed to operate under its platform. To support driver compliance, Maxim collaborates with over 25 licensed driving schools across the country, easing the process of legalisation and offering support and incentives to new driver-partners.

    “We actively assist candidates in obtaining the necessary permits and offer a system of compensation bonuses to encourage more people to become legal drivers,” said Chowdhury Mushfique Ahmed, Head of Legal and Government Relations at Maxim Malaysia. “We are ready to expand this effort with additional partnerships to help more Malaysians earn a legal income.”
