Maxim E-hailing Malaysia organised a six-city campaign in East Malaysia in celebration of the Kaamatan harvest festival in Sabah and the Gawai festival in Sarawak, providing free rides from key festival locations. The initiative was designed to improve accessibility for thousands of people attending the celebrations while ensuring convenient and safe transportation to and from event venues. In Sabah, the service covered major festival points including the Unduk Ngadau competition at KDCA Hall in Kota Kinabalu, the Fun Fair at Borneo Fun Park in Sandakan, and LikeFest 2026 in Tawau. In Sarawak, specially branded Gawai-themed vehicles operated in Kuching, Miri and Bintulu, offering complimentary rides throughout the festive period. Beyond transportation, the campaign also highlighted local culture through a creative collaboration with artists from Sabah and Sarawak. A limited-edition postcard series was produced featuring artworks by Rosemary Yvonne Marcus, Logiman J. Gamad and Sabating Ev Baron Kampiau in Sabah, as well as Lim Mei Joo and Amey Sheikh Ali in Sarawak. Inspired by traditional motifs and cultural symbols, the postcards were distributed free of charge to passengers inside campaign vehicles, turning each ride into a cultural experience connected to the identity of East Malaysia. Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim E-hailing Malaysia, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting both mobility and cultural heritage. He noted that Kaamatan and Gawai are deeply rooted in community identity and represent more than just celebrations, making it important for Maxim to contribute in a meaningful way. Through the postcard collaboration, the company aimed to extend the festive experience beyond event spaces and allow passengers to engage with local artistic expression. All limited-edition postcards were fully distributed during the campaign, reflecting strong participation from the public. The initiative showed that transport services can play a wider role in community engagement by supporting cultural appreciation while improving accessibility during major festivals in East Malaysia.
