  • Converse Unveils Chuck Taylor Lo: Minimalism Meets Modern Heritage for 2026

Converse Unveils Chuck Taylor Lo: Minimalism Meets Modern Heritage for 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, January 2026 — Converse continues to push the boundaries of footwear design with the introduction of the Chuck Taylor Lo, a low-profile silhouette that combines minimalist aesthetics with the brand’s iconic heritage. The Chuck Taylor Lo launches first in Red and Black colorways on January 1, 2026, with seasonal and foundational shades—including Egret, New Found Bloom, Clear Skies, and Light Field Surplus—rolling out from February 1, offering a complete palette for modern sneaker enthusiasts.

Crafted for individuals who appreciate understated style, the Chuck Taylor Lo emphasizes clean lines, a sleek stance, and a low-profile silhouette that makes a quiet yet confident statement. The shoe features a double-lasted outsole that hugs the foot for a streamlined, ground-hugging appearance. Beneath its minimalist exterior lies a thoughtfully constructed design, incorporating a hidden lightweight foam midsole and a sculpted OrthoLite sockliner that provide all-day comfort, while breathable mesh lining keeps feet fresh and supported.

Material quality and subtle detailing define the Chuck Taylor Lo. Premium suede uppers, padded leather heel collars, punched eyelets, and an overlayed eyelet row bring a refined, tactile richness to the design. The shoe preserves iconic Chuck Taylor elements, such as the rubber toe cap, toe bumper, winged double-row stitching, and All Star branding on the heel and tongue. Two sets of laces allow wearers to experiment with styling, reinforcing Converse’s focus on individuality and self-expression.

The Chuck Taylor Lo rollout is tightly integrated with global fashion initiatives. The official marketing launch begins on February 19, 2026, with runway sponsorships at London Fashion Week from February 19–23. Selected seeding campaigns will bring the silhouette to fashion insiders and trendsetters, followed by interactive café activations at Paris Fashion Week from March 2–10. These initiatives position the Chuck Taylor Lo as a versatile fashion-forward sneaker, bridging the gap between casual footwear and high-style appeal.

The Chuck Taylor Lo is designed with universal appeal in mind, offering unisex sizing from 3–12, 13, with a suggested retail price of $95 USD. Its combination of premium suede, full-grain leather, and versatile lacing options makes it suitable for both everyday wear and fashion statements. The shoe is lightweight yet structured, providing comfort without compromising on aesthetic sophistication.

With this launch, Converse demonstrates that minimalism can be bold. The Chuck Taylor Lo’s design philosophy—“less is more”—resonates with a generation seeking practical, stylish footwear that complements a variety of looks, from streetwear and casual ensembles to elevated fashion styles. By merging tradition and modernity, the Chuck Taylor Lo reinforces Converse’s legacy while offering a contemporary sneaker that is as functional as it is stylish.

Whether showcased on international runways or on city streets, the Chuck Taylor Lo promises to be a defining silhouette of 2026, appealing to sneaker enthusiasts, fashion-conscious consumers, and fans of timeless design. With its global rollout and thoughtful construction, it exemplifies Converse’s dedication to combining heritage, innovation, and wearable art in one iconic package.

  • International Fashion Chamber Malaysia Strengthens Local Talent, Advocates Education, and Builds Global Bridges

International Fashion Chamber Malaysia Strengthens Local Talent, Advocates Education, and Builds Global Bridges

The International Fashion Chamber Malaysia (IFCM) is positioning itself as a key driver in the country’s fashion landscape. Established by Dr. Leena Al Mujahed, the chamber was created to provide a collective platform for local designers while aligning artistic creativity with commercial opportunity.

Launched in July this year, IFCM has already outlined its priorities for the first year. Among its main objectives are strengthening its presence locally and abroad, developing strategic collaborations, and becoming a strong advocate for both fashion education and the industry at large.

During the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025) Modest Fashion Show and Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Leena emphasized that IFCM was founded to connect designers with the resources they need to expand their reach. She explained that the chamber’s vision is to bridge creativity with commerce while addressing the lack of a unified body that represents and supports the growth of local talent.

IFCM’s first major initiative has been its partnership with the MIHAS Modest Fashion Show, which marks an important step in promoting modest fashion as a sector with both cultural depth and global economic potential. Dr. Leena highlighted that modest fashion is a billion dollar industry and that this collaboration will create greater international exposure for Malaysian designers.

Membership, which opened in June, has been steadily increasing, reflecting strong demand for IFCM’s efforts. Moving forward, the chamber plans to grow its membership base, secure further partnerships, and continue its mission of elevating Malaysian fashion on the international stage.

The MIHAS Modest Fashion Show also presented a variety of forums and showcases. Industry leaders from Kraftangan Malaysia, PEFEM, and the Malaysia Pakistan Business Council discussed heritage, entrepreneurship, and cross border trade at the Fashion Business Beyond Borders Forum. Allianz hosted a session on Fashion Risk and Operational Coverage that provided guidance to small and medium enterprises on managing business risks. A special presentation by image consultant Datin Norma Norell focused on personal branding, style, and confidence.

The event concluded with the Modest Fashion Show, curated for the first time by IFCM. Designers from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Dubai presented collections that celebrated heritage, innovation, and modesty. Among the Malaysian highlights were Arlina Ayou, who combined batik with leather craftsmanship, Bill Keith with a Sahara inspired tribute, Casalwa by Datin Sharifah Salwa Syed Shafie with the Whispers of Modesty collection inspired by the hibiscus flower, and Yani Bakhtiar with Arabian influenced designs featuring intricate beadwork.

From Indonesia, 3G by Icha Key USA showcased Sriwijaya Revival, a collection celebrating Palembang’s songket artistry and the grandeur of the Sriwijaya Empire, while Donahue by Tanti presented Jogja Everyday Modesty, which incorporated Yogyakarta batik, lambskin leather accessories, and handcrafted footwear blending tradition with modern lifestyle.

Hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry and organized by MATRADE, MIHAS 2025 took place from 17 to 20 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The International Fashion Chamber Malaysia is a non profit body dedicated to connecting creativity and commerce. Representing designers, artisans, and small to medium enterprises, the chamber promotes industry growth, facilitates access to global markets, and champions Malaysian fashion on the world stage.
