Highest-Altitude Pinktober Event
Breast cancer awareness took centre stage at Hard Rock Cafe Genting Highlands during its recent Pinktober event, themed “Stronger Together”, which brought together more than 150 participants for a day of health screenings, educational activities and community engagement.
Held at approximately 6,000 feet above sea level, the event was described as the highest-altitude Pinktober gathering, highlighting the importance of early detection and breast health awareness.
Health Screenings and Live Entertainment
Participants had the opportunity to take part in breast cancer screenings and health checks, while healthcare professionals and community partners shared information to address fear and stigma surrounding the disease. The programme also featured a blood donation drive, BMI checks, skin analysis and a health awareness talk by Three International.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, guests enjoyed popular offerings from Hard Rock Cafe alongside live entertainment by local artistes, including Ms. Puiyi, Mira Rizam, Kakak Jerman, Pakcik Chin Swee, DJ Alicia FireHeart and MC Milo.
Another highlight was “The Highest Altitude Car Meet”, which brought together automotive enthusiasts and an exciting collection of vehicles in support of the meaningful cause.
Community Support and Corporate Responsibility
Hard Rock Cafe General Manager Jimmy Wong said the event aimed to raise greater awareness about one of the most common cancers affecting women and the importance of early detection.
“We hope to make this an annual community activity,” he said.
Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel also supported the initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. Tee Yih Fung, Executive Vice President of Ion Majestic Hospitality Sdn Bhd and Corporate Strategy and Business Development of NCT Group, said the event provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community and support an important cause.
