In conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka celebration, vivo Malaysia is inviting Malaysians to explore new perspectives of the country’s iconic landmarks through the nationwide “Shoot Beyond What You See” photography challenge. Running from 3 to 31 August, the challenge celebrates the spirit of Merdeka while highlighting Malaysia’s rich diversity, heritage and shared identity.

Powered by the vivo X300 Ultra and the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, the challenge gives participants the opportunity to experience advanced long-distance photography in real-world settings. With focal lengths ranging from 400mm to 8100mm, the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra enables users to capture well-known landmarks from impressive distances, showcasing the powerful telephoto capabilities of the technology.

With this advanced imaging setup, distant landmarks can be brought closer into the frame, allowing participants to transform familiar views into creative and extraordinary photographs simply by exploring a different perspective.

As part of the challenge, participants are invited to choose a location of their choice and photograph a well-known Malaysian landmark from a distance. They can then share their photographs on social media using the hashtag #MyPerspectiveofMY and tag the location where the photograph was taken.

In the spirit of unity, vivo Malaysia is encouraging participants to showcase the many perspectives that make Malaysia unique. The challenge invites Malaysians to look beyond conventional viewpoints and rediscover the country’s iconic sights from fresh and unexpected angles.

Participants can explore creative possibilities such as capturing the PETRONAS Twin Towers and Genting Highlands in a single frame or photographing Merdeka 118 from a distant location. By leveraging long-range telephoto capabilities, participants can create visually compelling images that reflect their personal perspectives while celebrating the beauty and diversity of Malaysia.

The “Shoot Beyond What You See” challenge also provides Malaysians with an opportunity to celebrate Merdeka through photography. Each landmark, location and perspective shared can contribute to a broader visual story of the nation, showcasing everything from modern urban landscapes to destinations rich in history, culture and heritage.

In addition to the photography challenge, vivo Malaysia is also offering exclusive SPayLater promotions in conjunction with the celebration. The promotions include six months of 0% instalments, a RM100 rebate with a minimum purchase of RM1,000 and a Coin Bonanza offering up to 10,000 coins.

The SPayLater promotions will be available at participating vivo Concept Stores in selected locations, including Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. The offers provide customers with greater payment flexibility when purchasing vivo products during the promotional period.

By bringing together advanced smartphone imaging technology, creativity and the spirit of patriotism, “Shoot Beyond What You See” encourages Malaysians to view their country through a different lens. Powered by the vivo X300 Ultra and vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, the challenge is not only about showcasing the capabilities of innovative photography technology, but also about celebrating the unique ways Malaysians see, appreciate and capture the beauty of their country during the Merdeka season.
