Rediscover Malaysia’s Beauty Through the HUAWEI Pura 90 Series

With less than a month remaining before entries close on 16 August 2026, HUAWEI is calling on Malaysians to take part in the Pura Trip “Discover Truly Malaysia” Photography Campaign, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Tourism Malaysia. The campaign encourages photography enthusiasts and travellers to explore local destinations, capture memorable travel moments using any HUAWEI smartphone, including the latest HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, and share the diverse stories and unique beauty of Malaysia through mobile photography.

Participants in the campaign stand a chance to win the HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max as the winner of the Pura Trip Photography Campaign. Selected submissions may also be considered for the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026 Malaysia, giving participants an opportunity to showcase their creativity on a wider platform. The Grand Prize winner of the Malaysian edition will take home a HUAWEI Mate X7, adding further excitement for photography enthusiasts looking to turn their travel memories into compelling visual stories.

As part of the ongoing Pura Trip Photography Campaign, HUAWEI recently hosted the “Discover Truly Malaysia” workshop at the HUAWEI Experience Store at The Exchange TRX on 25 July. The workshop provided photography enthusiasts with an opportunity to explore the creative possibilities of smartphone photography through hands-on activities, including composition guidance, outdoor photography sessions and creative sticker printing activities.

The session also allowed participants to experience the advanced imaging capabilities of the HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, demonstrating how smartphone technology can help users capture Malaysia’s landscapes, people, culture and everyday moments from fresh and creative perspectives. Through the workshop, participants were encouraged to experiment with their photography skills while discovering new ways to tell meaningful stories through images.

Participants can submit their travel photographs for a chance to win exclusive HUAWEI prizes and potentially be considered for the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026 Malaysia. As part of HUAWEI’s global mobile photography platform, the awards celebrate creative works captured using HUAWEI smartphones while providing photographers with an opportunity to showcase their talent and perspectives to a broader audience.

For the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026 Malaysia, entries can be submitted across nine categories designed to highlight different approaches to mobile photography. “So Far So Close” focuses on perspective and distance, while “Colour & Shade” explores the creative use of colour and light. “Good Night” is dedicated to images captured after dark, while “Faces” highlights portraits and human expression.

Other categories include “A Heartwarming World”, “Experimental Lab”, “Active Moments”, “Storyboard” and “Action”, covering themes ranging from everyday human connections and experimental photography techniques to movement and visual storytelling. The wide range of categories gives Malaysian photographers the opportunity to express their creativity and showcase the country through different visual perspectives.

Malaysian winners will receive an exciting selection of HUAWEI prizes. The Grand Prize winner will receive a HUAWEI Mate X7, while two First Runner-up winners will each receive a HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro. Ten Second Runner-up winners will each receive a HUAWEI FreeClip 2, while 15 Honourable Mention recipients will each receive a HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5. All winners will also receive an official trophy in recognition of their achievements.

To participate, Malaysians can submit their travel photographs by uploading their entries through the official submission website or posting their photographs on Instagram. Participants are required to follow and tag @huaweimobilemy and include the hashtags #PuraTripMY, #HUAWEIXMAGEMY2026 and #HUAWEIXMAGE. All entries must be captured using a HUAWEI smartphone and submitted by 16 August 2026.

The campaign also puts the spotlight on the imaging capabilities of the HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, which is powered by HUAWEI XMAGE imaging technology.
