Kuala Lumpur glowed in shades of pink as Warner Music Malaysia brought fans together for the “Play” Pre-Release Album Party in honor of Ed Sheeran’s upcoming record. The celebration unfolded at Luuma Dining’s rooftop at Menara Sentral Vista, where over 80 fans gathered for a night filled with music, joy, and anticipation of a new era for the global star. The venue was beautifully transformed with pink-themed décor, vibrant ambience, and coordinated guest outfits, all reflecting the essence of Sheeran’s latest project. Hosted by FLY FM’s Rika Adrina, the evening included interactive games, exclusive merchandise, lively DJ sets by Alicia Fireheart, and endless photo moments against the city skyline, complemented by light refreshments and an early preview of tracks from “Play.”

Marking Sheeran’s eighth studio album, “Play” takes a bold step away from his renowned Mathematics series. Sheeran shared that the project was born out of a challenging period in his life, driving him to create music filled with color, joy, and cultural influences gathered from his tours around the world. With sounds inspired by India, Persia, and other regions, the album merges nostalgic ballads with fresh, borderless experimentation. Among its 13 tracks are “Sapphire,” “Old Phone,” “Azizam,” and the newly released focus single “Camera.” To celebrate its launch, Sheeran revealed the official video for “Camera,” featuring Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor. Co-produced by ILYA, Andrew Watt, and Louis Bell, and dedicated to his wife Cherry, the heartfelt ballad showcases Sheeran’s signature lyrical depth. The video, directed by Emil Nava, depicts the tender beginnings of love and was uniquely filmed entirely on iPhone from the characters’ perspectives.

The event was made possible through Warner Music Malaysia’s collaboration with Luuma Dining as venue partner and Fly FM as radio partner, helping to spread excitement and connect with fans. Beyond Malaysia, the global launch extended with Sheeran’s special takeover of NPR’s Tiny Desk, marking its first large-scale livestream at 5 pm BST, where he performed new tracks with his loop station. Spotify also hosted exclusive listening sessions for top fans, while dedicated pop-ups appeared in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Manila. With the release of “Play,” Ed Sheeran reaffirms his status as one of today’s most impactful singer-songwriters, inviting audiences worldwide to embrace music that celebrates joy and life.
