From Streets to Runway: Skechers Unveils Hotshots Collection and MSYD Collaboration at Suria KLCC

Skechers, known globally as The Comfort Technology Company™ and a leader in lifestyle and performance footwear, made an impactful return to Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2025 with a presentation that merged bold, contemporary style with its signature all-day comfort. Held at the iconic central concourse of Suria KLCC, the high-energy showcase drew more than 450 guests including fashion insiders, media representatives and key influencers. Under the creative styling of well-known fashion figure Min Luna (@minluna), the runway was transformed into a cohesive, trend-driven display of movement, personality and innovation.

The centrepiece of the event was Skechers’ exclusive collaboration with rising Malaysian designer Masyadi Mansoor, better known as MSYD, bringing together authentic local streetwear influences and the brand’s distinctive design DNA. The Skechers x MSYD collection reimagines comfort-first clothing with an urban edge, reflecting the energy of modern street culture while staying true to the brand’s commitment to wearability. Guests were also treated to a first preview of Skechers’ new lifestyle sneaker line, scheduled for release in September 2025.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Zann Lee, Managing Director of Skechers Southeast Asia, said that KLFW remains an important platform for the brand to present its evolving identity. She explained that the collaboration with MSYD pushed the boundaries by blending local streetwear aesthetics with Skechers’ comfort innovation in a collection designed for people on the move. She also expressed excitement over the launch of the Hotshots sneakers on the runway, calling them a standout addition to the lifestyle portfolio that she hopes fans and the fashion community will embrace.

MSYD, known for his experimental silhouettes and bold, layered styling, brought his distinct creative voice to the collaboration. The collection featured pieces that were both practical and stylish, such as a long-sleeved shirt with clean tailoring and a relaxed fit, a raglan sleeve tee with contrast detailing and bold co-branding, and an oversized quilted sling bag with a padded, soft-structured form. Each design reflected MSYD’s belief in merging functionality with artistic expression, capturing what he described as the raw, expressive and constantly moving spirit of the streets.

The runway also marked the official debut of the Skechers Hotshots Collection, unveiled at KLFW on 6 August. This lifestyle sneaker series combines retro court-inspired designs with contemporary streetwear appeal, crafted with durable leather and suede overlays and equipped with Skechers’ Air-Cooled Memory Foam® insoles. The collection introduced three unique styles, Pyke, Kickoff and Cool Glow, each offering a distinct interpretation of casual streetwear for style-conscious men and women.

In addition to the collaboration with MSYD and the launch of the Hotshots line, the KLFW presentation showcased other Skechers lifestyle favourites styled by Min Luna, including the Skechers Sport Monster Evo, Skechers Court Classics Jade and Skechers D’Lites Series. The show reflected Skechers’ evolution from its performance-focused heritage toward a stronger presence in the fashion space, without compromising the comfort that defines the brand.

Both the Skechers x MSYD Collection and the Hotshots Collection, launched on 6 August 2025, are now available at selected Skechers concept stores such as Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, The Exchange TRX Mall and 1 Utama Shopping Centre. With its powerful return to KLFW, Skechers continues to champion movement, individuality and self-expression, proving that style and comfort are no longer separate worlds but a perfect match.
