In the true spirit of Hari Raya, Bolt Malaysia, a leading global ride-hailing platform, hosted an intimate Raya Open House to honour its driver partners the heart of its service. The event, held at Rumah Abang Jamil in Kuala Lumpur, brought together Bolt drivers, team members, and media for a meaningful celebration of appreciation, connection, and community.
The gathering provided a warm and festive setting for driver partners to share personal stories, engage in open dialogue with the Bolt team, and connect with one another. The event also recognised the platform’s top three driver-partners for their outstanding contributions, highlighting Bolt’s ongoing commitment to empowering and supporting its drivers.
“This Raya Open House is our way of saying thank you,” said Afzan Lutfi, Country Manager of Bolt Malaysia. “Our driver partners are not just users of our app they’re collaborators, community members, and everyday heroes. We’re here to listen, learn, and continue building a platform that truly supports them especially during this festive season.”
Driver-partners shared how gig work with Bolt offers them the flexibility to earn while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. “Driving with Bolt allows me to earn a steady income and still be home for buka puasa with my kids,” shared Shahnoorsalmi Binti Khalid, a full-time driver from Klang. “I appreciate the recognition and flexibility the platform gives us, especially during Raya.”
Since its launch, Bolt has seen rapid growth in Malaysia, including a 540% surge in registered driver-partners within just three months. This strong momentum reflects the growing appeal of a platform that offers fairer earnings, daily incentives, and one of the market’s lowest commission rates at 15% ensuring drivers keep more of what they earn.
Bolt also sets itself apart by including toll charges in fares upfront, offering greater transparency for both drivers and passengers and reducing friction during trips.
Looking ahead, Bolt will continue to roll out new features aimed at improving pickup management and making earnings more accessible, driven by ongoing feedback from the driver community. These updates align with Bolt’s broader expansion in Malaysia, including the recent launch of Bolt Executive, a premium ride category offering elevated experiences and increased earning potential.
With a people-first approach rooted in fairness and flexibility, Bolt remains committed to redefining ride-hailing in Malaysia building a more inclusive, connected mobility future for all.
