Kuala Lumpur Welcomes a New Landmark as 118 Mall Set to Open This August

A new chapter in Kuala Lumpur’s urban landscape is set to unfold this August with the opening of 118 Mall, a vibrant lifestyle destination located at the foot of the world’s second-tallest tower, Merdeka 118. Positioned within the historic Merdeka 118 precinct, the highly anticipated mall promises to blend the city’s rich cultural heritage with a modern retail and lifestyle experience, creating a dynamic destination for both Malaysians and international visitors. Located near iconic landmarks such as Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, as well as the bustling atmosphere of Petaling Street, 118 Mall is designed to become a seamless extension of Kuala Lumpur’s cultural heartbeat.

One of the mall’s biggest highlights is the Malaysian Artisan District, an 80,000 sq. ft. space dedicated to celebrating local craftsmanship, flavours and creativity. Serving as a living showcase of Malaysian culture, the district will feature the Makanizm Food Hall, a 40,000 sq. ft. culinary hub spotlighting the nation’s diverse food heritage. The carefully curated retail mix will also introduce a blend of international brands and beloved Malaysian names, including Kenny Hills Cafe, ZUS Coffee, Oriental Kopi, Serai Group and Dolly Dim Sum. Fashion and lifestyle enthusiasts can also look forward to flagship concepts from Skechers and Decathlon, alongside premium brands such as Coach, Hackett London, Cole Haan, ASICS and Li-Ning.

Adding to its appeal, 118 Mall will also house family-friendly and everyday lifestyle offerings such as Village Grocer, Babyshop and the much-anticipated SOGO118, a refreshed evolution of the iconic SOGO Malaysia brand designed to cater to a younger generation of shoppers. The mall’s immersive event space, The Atmosphere on Level 4, is expected to become a major social hotspot with its stunning glass dome, natural lighting and massive LED displays that will host fashion events, festivals and community gatherings.

According to Izwan Hasli Ibrahim, CEO of PNB Merdeka Ventures, the Merdeka 118 precinct is envisioned as a global destination that integrates retail, hospitality, culture and community experiences into one iconic address. With more than 70 per cent of the retail space already committed, the opening of 118 Mall is expected to further strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s position as a world-class tourism and lifestyle destination ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

Local soul, modern design: The Malaysian Artisan District features inspired, open-concept spaces that spotlight the best of homegrown creativity and craftsmanship.

Under its brand promise “Live Your Story,” 118 Mall invites visitors to experience a new era of shopping, culture and community in the heart of Kuala Lumpur when it officially opens this August.
