Sam Edelman Opens First Penang Boutique at Gurney Plaza, Unveils Fall/Winter 2026 Collection

American footwear brand Sam Edelman continues its expansion in Malaysia with the opening of its first boutique in northern Malaysia at Gurney Plaza, Penang.

Spanning 1,056 square feet, the new boutique at Ground Floor, Lot 170-G-23A/25, Gurney Plaza marks Sam Edelman’s third standalone boutique in Malaysia, following the brand’s local debut at The Gardens Mall in September 2025.

The Penang opening further extends Sam Edelman’s presence beyond the Klang Valley, following its expansion through an in-store counter at SEIBU, The Exchange TRX, a pop-up at Suria KLCC and its second standalone boutique at Sunway Pyramid.

The new boutique offers a refined and contemporary shopping environment, featuring a soft neutral palette, warm wood finishes, gold-toned accents and a textured sage green feature wall. Sculptural furnishings and open displays complete the space, creating a welcoming setting for shoppers to explore the brand’s latest collections.

Among the signature styles available are the Alie Ballet Flats, Bay Sandals, Bianka Sling, Hazel Pumps, Michaela Flats and Langley Sneakers, showcasing the brand’s focus on versatile and timeless footwear.

Coinciding with the Penang opening, Sam Edelman also introduces its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, She’s a Lady, which explores different expressions of modern femininity through three key style stories: Maximalist, Modern Boho and Sharp Tailoring.

Maximalist embraces bold details, intricate embellishments and striking textures, while Modern Boho combines relaxed silhouettes with a polished finish. Sharp Tailoring takes inspiration from structured silhouettes, heritage-inspired patterns and rich textures to create a refined take on power dressing.

To celebrate its arrival in Penang, Sam Edelman also hosted a three-day café pop-up from 11 to 13 September in collaboration with Ghim Ghim Cafe, offering selected refreshments including coffee, matcha and yuzu soda.

According to Gina Goh, Managing Director of Sam Edelman (Southeast Asia), Malaysia remains an important market for the brand’s growth in Southeast Asia, with the new Gurney Plaza boutique allowing Sam Edelman to connect with consumers in northern Malaysia.
