KUALA LUMPUR, August 2026 – Midea is making it even easier for Malaysians to get their hands on its smart home appliances through a new partnership with 99 Speed Mart, the country’s largest mini market chain. The collaboration was officially sealed with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking another important step in Midea’s expansion plans across Malaysia. The MoU signing brought together Midea Malaysia Managing Director Mark Tam, with Midea Group Asia Pacific Region President Zeal Jiang attending as witness. Representing 99 Speed Mart were Chief Operating Officer Yong Eng Kwang, while Executive Director and CEO Lee Thiam Wah witnessed the signing on behalf of the company. This latest collaboration builds on Midea’s growing presence in Malaysia after opening 18 Midea Brand Stores nationwide last year. By adding 99 Speed Mart to its retail network, Midea is creating more opportunities for consumers to discover and purchase its products through locations that are already part of their everyday routine. Mark Tam said the partnership allows more Malaysians to enjoy Midea’s latest home appliances without having to travel far. Products such as blenders, kettles, rice cookers, fans, toasters, vacuum cleaners and stoves will now be available at selected 99 Speed Mart outlets, making shopping more convenient while complementing Midea’s existing brand stores and authorised dealers. Lee Thiam Wah shared that the partnership is also an exciting move for 99 Speed Mart as the retailer continues expanding its product offerings beyond daily essentials. By introducing trusted home appliances into its stores, the company hopes to give customers greater convenience and more choices while staying true to its “Near n’ Save” promise. The partnership also reflects Midea’s wider regional growth strategy. During the company’s Asia Pacific Dealer Conference in Bali last year, Midea introduced its “Power of One” vision, focusing on innovation, retail expansion and delivering a better customer experience. Growing its retail footprint in Malaysia is part of that long-term plan. Starting from August 2026, customers can shop for a range of Midea small home appliances at 99 Speed Mart outlets nationwide. Available products include blenders, electric kettles, rice cookers, table fans, stand fans, circulation fans, bread toasters, toaster ovens, stick vacuums and stainless steel stoves.
