  • Lazada 11.11 Super Show

Shoppers across the nation counted down to the biggest one-day sale of the year by watching the second edition of the Lazada 11.11 Super Show, a live television special in collaboration with Media Prima Television Networks. The Lazada 11.11 Super Show was livestreamed via the Lazada mobile app and broadcasted across major television channel TV3 and its online streaming channels on Tonton and Youtube. Lazada Malaysia’s in-app viewership alone saw an almost 3x increase from last year, with a total viewership of nearly 5 million across all platforms and live at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre. The audience was entertained by performances and skits by international and Malaysian superstars, including popular K-pop girl group Apink.

  • Lazada Wallet is the top payment method

Shoppers experienced smooth check-outs this 11.11, with the Lazada Wallet being the highest-used payment method. This indicates Malaysian consumers increasingly prefer safer and more rewarding forms of cashless payment. Transactions taking place per second via Lazada Wallet alone increased by over 77% compared to the same period last year.

  • Increased Logistics Capacity

To cater to the sky-rocketing demand during 11.11, Lazada eLogistics (LeL) increased its manpower by 5x compared to a normal day, with its 8 warehouses extending its usual operation hours to 24 hours over 6 days. Lazada Malaysia also broke a regional record by delivering its first order to a customer within the first 80 minutes of the sale on November 11.

  • Best-Sellers

Among the first items to sell out were HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro smartphones, which were snapped up within the first 5 minutes of the sale, as well as over 1 tonne of Prego Spaghetti and more than 57,000 packets of Maggi 2-Min Curry instant noodles. The top 3 best-selling categories were Home Appliances, Mobiles & Tablet Devices and Accessories. Meanwhile, Chup Dulu pre-orders saw the most “chups” for items under the Mother & Baby, Groceries and Sports & Outdoor categories.

  • More Malaysians participating in the digital economy

The Desaku LazMall Flagship Store on Lazada recorded a stunning performance during the Lazada 11.11 Shopping Festival, with all products completely sold out in less than 24 hours. Run by the founders of The DESA Project, the store carries heritage produce from rural farmers in Bentong, Pahang, including Bentong soy sauce and Orang Asli rice, and aims to help create opportunities for underserved communities through eCommerce. The Desaku store was opened just in time for 11.11 and its sold-out status in under 24-hours points towards a high demand for local heritage products by local shoppers.
