Hock Kee Kopitiam Partners with Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur to Showcase Malaysian Food Heritage

Malaysian kopitiam brand Hock Kee Kopitiam has partnered with five-star hotel Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur to introduce more international travellers to Malaysia’s rich food heritage in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.

The collaboration begins with an exclusive dining privilege for guests staying at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, who can enjoy 10% off dining at all Hock Kee Kopitiam outlets. The initiative aims to connect hotel guests with the flavours and traditions of Malaysian kopitiam culture.

Located in Bukit Bintang, one of Kuala Lumpur’s key tourism districts, both brands are well-positioned to introduce local culinary experiences to visitors from around the world. The partnership also aims to encourage travellers to explore Malaysian culture beyond accommodation and sightseeing, with food serving as a gateway to discovering the country’s heritage and diversity.

As the collaboration develops, both parties are exploring additional initiatives, including jointly curated packages for hotel guests, cross-brand promotions and marketing campaigns. Plans may also include introducing selected Hock Kee Kopitiam favourites, such as its signature laksa, to the hotel’s dining experience. These initiatives will be introduced progressively.

YBrs. Mohd Akbal Setia, Deputy Director General (Promotions) and Head of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 Secretariat at Tourism Malaysia, welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the role of Malaysian food in enhancing the visitor experience.

He noted that Malaysia welcomed 28.8 million international visitors between January and August 2026, reflecting continued interest in the country as a travel destination. He added that collaborations such as this could help international visitors experience the diversity, warmth and togetherness reflected in Malaysia’s kopitiam culture.

Meanwhile, Nick Ng, Founder of Hock Kee Kopitiam, said the partnership would help extend the brand’s experience beyond its outlets and make Malaysian flavours more accessible to international visitors. As a strategic partner of Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, the brand aims to make local food and kopitiam traditions part of how travellers experience and remember Malaysia.

Jim Khoo, General Manager of Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, said the collaboration would allow the hotel to offer guests a more meaningful experience beyond their stay by connecting them with the city’s culture, local flavours and heritage.

He added that the partnership reflects the hotel’s commitment to celebrating Malaysian traditions and creating opportunities for guests to develop a deeper appreciation of Kuala Lumpur and its people.

The partnership marks the beginning of a longer-term collaboration between Hock Kee Kopitiam and Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, combining their strengths in dining and hospitality as Malaysia prepares to welcome more visitors under Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.

Both brands will continue exploring new guest experiences and collaborative initiatives, with further announcements to be made as the partnership progresses.
