First Look at the Galaxy Z Flip7: Samsung’s Next-Gen Pocket Foldable

Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in Brooklyn, marking a major advancement in foldable innovation. This launch represents the latest chapter in Samsung’s journey to redefine smartphone design and user experience.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 takes flip-style smartphones to a new level by combining a compact and portable design with smarter AI features. It features the largest cover screen ever introduced in the Galaxy Z Flip lineup, offering a more intuitive experience in a sleeker form. Samsung Newsroom had the opportunity to get an exclusive hands-on experience with the Galaxy Z Flip7 during the Unpacked event.

The device debuts with a full-front FlexWindow and a refined, slimmer silhouette. The standout feature is the 4.1-inch FlexWindow, which boasts ultra-thin 1.25 millimeter bezels that allow the display to cover nearly the entire front, except for the camera area. This expanded display allows users to carry out daily tasks like checking schedules, responding to messages, or using AI-powered tools directly from the cover screen without needing to flip open the device.

Once opened, users are greeted with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display. Both the FlexWindow and the main display offer up to 2,600 nits of brightness, a smooth 120 hertz refresh rate, and Samsung’s Vision Booster technology, ensuring excellent visibility and vibrant content even under bright outdoor conditions.

In terms of size, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the slimmest model in the series to date. It measures just 6.5 millimeters when unfolded and 13.7 millimeters when folded, with a total weight of only 188 grams. This makes it even more pocket-friendly without sacrificing performance or durability. The phone is reinforced with a durable Armor Aluminum frame and a thinner yet stronger Armor FlexHinge that ensures smooth folding and long-lasting use.

Inside, the device houses a 4,300 mAh battery, the largest battery yet in the Galaxy Z Flip series. This extended power capacity supports up to 31 hours of video playback, giving users more freedom to stay connected and entertained without frequent recharging.

One of the standout features of the Galaxy Z Flip7 is its integration of multimodal AI capabilities through One UI 8, which is specially optimized for the larger FlexWindow. This combination delivers a more seamless and intelligent user experience. For example, users can access Now Brief to check schedules directly from the cover screen. By long pressing the power button, users can launch Google’s Gemini Live assistant for real-time help with tasks like finding restaurant recommendations, checking the weather, or choosing outfits based on what the camera sees. This practical use of AI makes everyday routines smarter and more personalized.

With its sleek design, smart features, and intuitive interface, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is built to adapt to users’ needs on the go. It not only improves on Samsung’s existing foldable technology but also introduces experiences that feel natural and effortless.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 will be available in Malaysia beginning 1 August 2025 through Samsung’s official website and retail stores. Customers can also benefit from Samsung Care Plus, which provides extensive coverage for accidental damage, repairs, and replacements.

From 9 to 31 July 2025, customers can pre-order the latest Galaxy Z series starting from RM3,999. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available in several configurations including 12GB RAM with 256GB storage at RM7,799, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage at RM8,399, and a 16GB RAM with 1TB storage version at RM9,899. Color options include Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and an online exclusive Mint.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 starts at RM4,999 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model, while the 512GB version is priced at RM5,599. It comes in Blue Shadow, Coral Red, Jetblack, and Mint, which is also an online exclusive.

For those looking for a more affordable option, Samsung is offering the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE exclusively online. It is available with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The 128GB variant is priced at RM3,999, while the 256GB version is available for RM4,299. Customers can choose between Black and White color options.
