Castrol Unleashed Returns to Discover Malaysia’s Next Generation of Sim Racing Talent

Castrol Unleashed Opens Doors for Young Racing Talents

Castrol Malaysia and Cove Circuit are bringing back the Castrol Unleashed Youth Sim Racing Championship for its second season, giving young Malaysians aged 18 to 24 the opportunity to develop their racing skills through competitive sim racing.

This year’s championship features separate Male Youth and Female Youth divisions, alongside development opportunities designed to help participants improve their skills and progress towards more competitive racing. Registration is now open through the championship’s official website.

Joshua Tan, Head of Marketing for Castrol Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines, said the initiative aims to make motorsport more accessible to young people while helping them build practical skills, confidence and competition readiness.

Castrol Unleashed Masterclass Series and Qualifying Rounds

The first season attracted more than 400 aspiring racers and 4,000 members of the public. Building on this success, Season 2 introduces the Castrol Unleashed Masterclass Series, powered by TGR Malaysia, featuring approximately 13 online sessions covering racecraft, telemetry, lap techniques, and the cars and circuits featured in the championship.

Qualifying sessions took place at Cove Circuit Cyberjaya on 10 and 11 October, followed by Cove Circuit Bandar Sunway on 17 and 18 October. The first qualifying round in Cyberjaya was completely sold out, highlighting the growing interest in competitive sim racing among young Malaysians.

Grand Finale and Cash Prizes Await Champions

The 20 fastest racers in each division will advance to the Grand Finale at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 13 to 15 November 2026. The top 10 competitors in each division will then compete for cash prizes, including RM6,000 for the Male Youth champion and RM3,000 for the Female Youth champion.

Eligible participants can register through the official championship website for RM10 per qualifying slot, with a maximum of two slots available per racer. Those looking to improve their performance can also practise at Cove Circuit using the same simulator hardware featured in the championship.
