The countdown to Malaysia’s most anticipated dance music event has officially begun. The Dugem Festival Countdown 2025 (DFC 2025) is set to make its debut on December 31st, 2024, at The Landing, KL Base in Bandar Malaysia, Sungei Besi. The festival is set to transform the Malaysian music scene, offering a unique platform for Dugem music, a genre that has captivated audiences in Indonesia and beyond.

Dugem, short for Dunia Gemelapan (meaning “World of Darkness”), is an Indonesian-originated dance genre that blends deep, soulful rhythms with electronic beats. Over the last decade, Dugem has spread across Southeast Asia, gaining significant traction in Malaysia, where it has become a staple in the underground dance scene. Despite its growing popularity, the Dugem Festival Countdown 2025 marks the first-ever large-scale Dugem celebration in Malaysia, marking a historic shift in the local music festival landscape.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Dugem to a broader audience in Malaysia,” said En Muhammad Adnan bin Mohd Dicky, spokesperson for DFC 2025. “This festival represents more than just a music event — it’s an opportunity to unite the people of Southeast Asia through a shared love of music, dance, and culture.”

The Dugem Festival Countdown 2025 will feature a powerhouse lineup, with international stars and local talents taking the stage. Headlining the event are Cipydot and Icha Kharoline, two of Indonesia’s most sought-after Dugem artists. Known for their explosive performances and viral hits, both artists have garnered massive followings in their home country and internationally.

The festival will also highlight some of Malaysia’s leading Dugem DJs, including Yonn, DJ Alyph, Kent Wukong, DJ Ajijie, Debi Echa, Alongputra, Manz, Mirul Twin Tech, and Baeby, among others. These talented local artists have made their mark in the EDM and Dugem scenes, promising an electrifying night for festival-goers.

More artists, including another international act, will be announced in the coming weeks, ensuring a diverse and dynamic festival experience.

Held at The Landing, KL Base, the Dugem Festival Countdown 2025 will be an open-air event, running from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. This large-scale venue offers the perfect space for the high-energy atmosphere that Dugem music demands. In addition to world-class performances, the festival will provide a variety of amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Festival-goers can look forward to a wide array of food and beverage stalls, food trucks, and portable toilets, as well as a mosque on-site for those wishing to perform religious obligations. For the safety of all attendees, security personnel, along with RELA and police officers, will be stationed at the venue, with strict security checks to prevent prohibited items from being brought in.
