Malaysia’s Business Events Future Shines Bright: MACEOS Announces EventXpo 2025

MACEOS Unveils Powerhouse Business Events Line-Up with MBEA and EventXpo 2025 This August

The Malaysian business events industry is set to take centre stage once again as the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) announces the return of two major events the 3rd Malaysian Business Events Awards (MBEA) and the 2nd edition of EventXpo 2025. Taking place from 7 to 9 August 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), these highly anticipated events will highlight the strength, resilience, and innovative spirit of the local business events landscape.

Bringing together key stakeholders, from organisers to suppliers and venue partners, MBEA and EventXpo will serve as a catalyst for connection, innovation, and industry recognition. MACEOS President, Datuk Dr M Gandhi, described the double event as an essential annual gathering for the sector, offering participants the chance to learn, collaborate, and explore future growth opportunities. “This is more than just a showcase it’s a platform for progress and celebration. If you’re in the business events ecosystem, this is the event of the year you can’t afford to miss,” he shared.

EventXpo 2025, returning under the theme “Smart Solutions, Smart Events,” is set to be the region’s go-to marketplace for forward-thinking event professionals. With a curated exhibition space, expert-led forums, and immersive experiences, the three-day expo will spotlight the latest in event technology, services, and sustainability practices. Attendees can expect to engage with local and international brands, explore collaborative possibilities, and gain actionable insights to elevate their own event strategies.

In addition to connecting buyers and suppliers, EventXpo also aims to shift the way corporate buyers source events moving from informal recommendations to a more structured, trustworthy platform. As Datuk Dr Gandhi explained, “We want to change the way business is done. EventXpo gives Malaysian and regional businesses the opportunity to engage professionally and meaningfully under one roof without needing to travel abroad to be seen.”

Further strengthening the expo’s value is the inclusion of the Kind Malaysia initiative, which integrates corporate social responsibility into the event experience. This initiative enables businesses to connect with non-profit organisations and spark partnerships that contribute to long-term community impact. It reflects MACEOS’s broader commitment to ensuring that the growth of the business events industry goes hand-in-hand with meaningful, inclusive progress.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Business Events Awards (MBEA), which kicks off on 7 August, will recognise excellence across a wide range of categories that capture the evolving nature of the industry. From staging innovation to leadership and impact, this year’s awards will also introduce new categories such as Business Catalyst Excellence and Best Stage Design Excellence acknowledging the creativity and ingenuity that continue to push the sector forward.

According to Datuk Dr Gandhi, the awards represent a moment of pride for the industry. “Our players have shown remarkable resilience in recent years. Through the MBEA, we’re celebrating their determination, their creativity, and their commitment to pushing boundaries. This is their moment to shine,” he said. Nomination guidelines and criteria will be available in May 2025 via the MACEOS website.

Together, the MBEA and EventXpo 2025 underscore MACEOS’s mission to spotlight Malaysian excellence and build a thriving, future-ready industry. With international attention turning to Malaysia as a rising player in Asia’s business events arena, these two events promise to not only elevate the conversation but also empower those driving the industry forward.
