DJI Malaysia has officially introduced the DJI SDR Transmission 2, an advanced wireless video transmission system powered by an upgraded Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform. Engineered specifically to tackle the demands of modern film and broadcast sets, the system streams up to DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR at a high bitrate of 50Mbps. This ensures pin-sharp visual detail, balanced highlights and shadows, and seamless color gradations, delivering an uncompromising monitoring experience even in crowded RF environments where device signals intersect. A standout highlight is the unit’s integrated transceiver design, allowing each device to switch instantly between transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) modes based on on-set requirements. Weighing just 136 grams, the lightweight chassis minimizes payload strain on handheld gimbals and rig setups. For production versatility, an optional expansion board introduces SDI, HDMI, and four USB-C ports with full SDI metadata pass-through support for cinema cameras, while an optional rugged cage provides durable mounting points and anti-detachment cable protection for demanding car mounts and action shots. Built for robust multi-camera collaboration, a single transmitter can broadcast to up to eight receivers with individual remote control access, ideal for simultaneous viewing across directors, DPs, and focus pullers. For large-scale multi-cam workflows, the architecture supports up to five transmitters and 40 receivers concurrently without sacrificing 4K feed stability. Signal stability is driven by Auto Channel 2.0, which diagnoses channel conflicts, scans frequencies dynamically, and automatically hops bands to eliminate interference on busy sets. The system delivers an extensive transmission range of up to 4 kilometers while sustaining ultra-low latency down to 35 milliseconds. This responsive link proves essential for real-time focus pulling, gimbal control, stadium events, car-to-car pursuits, and FPV drone operations. Crew members can switch feeds on the fly via the RX unit or the DJI Ronin app without power-cycling or manual re-pairing, while mobile devices can connect directly via USB-C for sharp, low-latency client monitoring. The DJI Ronin app delivers an array of pro-tier monitoring tools, including LUT imports, focus peaking, waveforms, and false color. It also incorporates PTP camera control to adjust aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, as well as CEC control for virtual menu access. Powering the system is equally flexible: crews can use industry-standard NP-F batteries, 15V/3A USB-C Power Delivery (PD), or draw power directly from connected DJI RS gimbals (RS 5, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, RS 3 Pro), Ronin 2, or Master Wheels without requiring a standalone battery. The DJI SDR Transmission 2 is now officially available in Malaysia at RM1,329 for the standalone unit and RM2,349 for the DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo.
