Vivo has officially unveiled its next generation imaging flagship, the Vivo X500 Series, at a launch event in Shanghai. Comprising three distinct models, the vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro, and vivo X500 Pro Max, the lineup marks the inaugural chapter of the brand’s company wide pivot toward elevating dynamic imaging. Guided by the vision of delivering dual excellence in photo and video experience, the series is engineered to bridge the divide between a high ceiling productivity tool for professional creators and an accessible, intuitive platform for capturing cinematic everyday footage.

Leading the charge is the flagship vivo X500 Pro Max, which debuts the jointly engineered vivo x Sony LYTIA L910 sensor. Breaking physical hardware barriers, it achieves a true 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range to preserve critical detail across both photos and high-contrast backlight video frames. On the video front, the Pro Max introduces 4K 240 fps Cinematic Slow-Mo, 17 EV TrueDynamic Log video with 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding, ACES (Academy Colour Encoding System) support, and official DaVinci color transformation pipelines. For telephoto capture, it pairs a 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with CIPA 7.0 stabilization, 1536-point multi-zone laser focusing, and support for the 400 mm-equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra.

Under the hood, both the vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max are driven by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on a second-generation 2nm N2P architecture and integrated with vivo’s proprietary V3+ and VS1+ imaging chipsets. The Pro tier features vivid 2K ZEISS Master Color Displays measuring 6.85 inches on the Pro Max and 6.36 inches on the Pro alongside massive BlueVolt battery capacities of 7,800 mAh and 6,510 mAh, respectively. The entire series runs on the newly optimized OriginOS 7, backed by a 72-month anti-aging certification from vivo Lab to guarantee long-term operational fluidity.

The standard vivo X500 punches well above its class, inheriting core imaging DNA from its Pro counterparts. It is anchored by a 1/1.28-inch vivo x Sony LYTIA 828 sensor with gimbal-grade OIS, complemented by a 64 MP LYTIA 610 telephoto lens with CIPA 5.5 stabilization. In addition to 4K 120 fps video capture and standardized 8K Native Live output across the entire lineup, the standard edition supports the lightweight 200 mm-equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2. Powering the base model is the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M chip, supported by a 7,500 mAh BlueVolt battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless FlashCharge.

By reconciling the traditional industry trade-offs among photo clarity, cinematic video, and everyday portability, the vivo X500 Series reinforces vivo’s position as a preferred technology partner for major broadcast media networks. Following its global debut in Shanghai, the vivo X500 Series is anticipated to arrive in Malaysia in October 2026, with local pricing and availability details to be announced via vivo Malaysia’s official channels.
