Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd. has launched CarePod, a next-generation AI-enabled healthcare kiosk aimed at improving preventive care and early disease detection in Malaysia. The launch, graced by Dato’ Dr. Suhaimi bin Ibrahim, Pengerusi KOBENA, underscored strong institutional and community support for transforming primary healthcare services through digital integration.
Developed by DR Solutions, CarePod is a fully integrated platform offering real-time vital sign monitoring, Point-of-Care Testing (including FBC, biochemistry panels, HbA1c), rapid screening for Malaria, Influenza, and Dengue, AI-assisted clinical workflows, secure teleconsultations, and digital follow-up pathways. This holistic model decentralizes healthcare delivery without compromising clinical governance, patient data security, or accountability.
CarePod’s digital infrastructure is strengthened by QuantumNexis Sdn. Bhd., ensuring scalable, enterprise-grade cloud services and compliance with international standards. The system also collaborates with University of Malaya to enable evidence-based outcomes, NCD risk profiling, and infectious disease analytics for continuous improvement.

Dr. Balachandran Krishnan, CEO of Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd., explained that CarePod marks a move from reactive treatment to proactive preventive care. “By integrating AI-driven diagnostics and teleconsultation into a secure ecosystem, CarePod reduces diagnostic delays, enables earlier intervention, and expands access to structured healthcare services—especially for semi-urban and rural populations,” he said. CarePod allows structured screening for hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic disorders, and respiratory compromise while providing rapid infectious disease testing.
This initiative represents a significant step in making preventive healthcare more accessible and efficient, leveraging AI, digital integration, and academic collaboration to improve health outcomes nationwide.
