Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia launches Heels & Wheels 2.0

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – The latest survey by Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia (Bosch AA) showed 99 per cent of women drivers acknowledge that having a basic understanding of cars is important for safety. Within this, 75 per cent of women drivers admit they rely on a male figure such as a family member, friend or mechanic to help them with basic car-related issues.

There is a distinct gap between the correlation of car safety and basic car maintenance knowledge. To remedy this, Bosch AA, a thought leader in car and road safety launches today Heels & Wheels 2.0, an online basic car maintenance video series aimed at empowering women drivers to easily learn about cars through accessible knowledge on simple and proactive car care.

The new online video series will feature bite-sized videos covering practical tips to identify, prevent, maintain, diagnose, and resolve issues related to their cars. Topics that will be covered include car batteries, tires, wipers, dashboard indicators and engine oil as these were the top five topics survey respondents indicated they were keen to learn about. The first video is on car battery showing three ways drivers can do to avoid encountering a dead car battery.

Dillion Goh, Marketing Manager of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia said that Bosch AA recognises there the modern-day women usually commute with small children or alone on a daily basis.

“It is important that we empower them to identify and troubleshoot common and basic issues with their cars. This serves to help them maintain an uncompromised level of personal, car and road safety. Safety has always been our key focus and we are committed to continuously contribute towards education and creating awareness that help drivers improve their knowledge on car care to reduce the risk of accidents.

“To this end, we have developed a series of easily accessible short videos that not just women drivers but all drivers can refer to learn more about basic car maintenance. We hope that women drivers will greatly benefit from the educational content through Heel & Wheels 2.0 by being more independent in taking good care of their cars and enhance the safety of themselves and their children on our shared roads.”
