BYD Rawang Blends Electric Vehicles with European-Inspired Design and Local Art

BYD Sime Motors has expanded its presence in the Klang Valley with the opening of BYD Rawang, a new showroom operated by BE Autohaus under BE Group. The latest outlet strengthens the company’s retail network while providing customers in Rawang and nearby areas with greater convenience when exploring BYD’s electric vehicle range.

The opening marks BE Group’s third BYD showroom, following the establishment of BYD Setia Alam in November 2022 and BYD Kota Kemuning in September 2024. The expansion reflects the group’s continued commitment to growing its automotive business alongside BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia.

Situated in the northern part of the Klang Valley, BYD Rawang is designed to serve the needs of a growing customer base in a developing residential and commercial area. The showroom offers a contemporary setting where visitors can discover the brand’s electric vehicles, learn more about available models and receive assistance throughout their purchasing journey.

The facility covers 4,298 square feet on a 10,803-square-foot site and features architecture inspired by European design. Light-coloured finishes, carefully balanced proportions and subtle castle-inspired details give the showroom a distinctive appearance while creating a welcoming environment for visitors.

With space for up to five vehicles, the showroom is equipped with a customer lounge and a dedicated new car delivery room. These facilities are intended to make the vehicle selection and handover process more comfortable, allowing customers to experience different stages of their purchase in a purpose-designed setting.

Beyond expanding access to electric vehicles, BYD Rawang is introducing a community initiative that gives emerging Malaysian artists an opportunity to showcase their creativity. A dedicated exhibition area within the showroom will serve as a platform for aspiring artists to display and sell their artwork, bringing an additional cultural element to the automotive retail experience.

Selected artists will be given a three-month exhibition period, with the showcase refreshed every quarter. This arrangement aims to introduce new creative works to visitors while providing local talent with opportunities to reach potential buyers and gain greater public exposure.

Artists interested in participating can look out for submission guidelines and eligibility criteria through BYD Rawang’s official social media channels. Applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted artists will be notified directly.

In a move to provide direct support to participating artists, all artwork sales will be commission-free, allowing artists to retain 100% of the proceeds. The initiative reflects an effort to create meaningful opportunities for the local creative community while encouraging visitors to engage with Malaysian art in an unconventional setting.

Andrew Tay, Managing Director of BE Group, said the opening represents an important step in the group’s journey with BYD, from its first outlet in Setia Alam to its subsequent expansion in Kota Kemuning and now Rawang.

He explained that the group aims to provide a welcoming environment where customers can explore BYD’s electric vehicle offerings and receive the support they need. At the same time, BE Group wants its latest outlet to contribute to the surrounding community by providing emerging artists with a platform to exhibit and sell their work.

To mark the opening, BYD Rawang is holding a launch open house from 19 to 30 October 2026. The programme includes test drives, exclusive launch-period offers on selected BYD models and lucky draw prizes for customers who make bookings during the event.

Visitors will also be able to explore the showroom’s inaugural artist showcase, offering an opportunity to experience the new outlet’s combination of automotive innovation and local creativity.

Liu Xueliang, Vice President of BYD Co., Ltd. and General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, said Malaysia remains an important market for BYD, with the company’s growth supported by local partnerships and its long-term commitment to the communities it serves.

He highlighted that expanding access to electric mobility is a key priority, alongside creating spaces that reflect the character and aspirations of local communities. Through BYD Rawang, the company aims to bring together vehicle innovation, design and artistic expression while celebrating Malaysia’s creative culture.

Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, added that the opening supports the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its retail network and make electric mobility more accessible across Malaysia.

She noted that dealer partners play a significant role in bringing BYD vehicles closer to customers and delivering a consistent experience throughout the ownership journey. The latest outlet under BE Group further strengthens this partnership while increasing access to the brand’s electric vehicle line-up.

BYD Sime Motors continues to expand its nationwide retail and aftersales infrastructure to support customers before and after purchasing a vehicle. Its current network comprises 45 sales and marketing outlets, 33 aftersales facilities and 16 body and paint centres across Malaysia.

The opening of BYD Rawang represents another step in the company’s efforts to grow its local presence while offering a showroom experience that extends beyond conventional vehicle sales. By combining a modern retail environment with a platform for emerging artists, the outlet aims to establish a stronger connection with customers and the wider Rawang community.
