TP Johor Bahru New Operations Centre
TP in Malaysia, a global leader in digital business services, has opened a new operations centre in Johor Bahru to strengthen its presence in Malaysia and support businesses across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The new facility complements TP’s existing operations in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, establishing a strategic nearshore hub for customer experience, digital operations and revenue services. Its location near Singapore allows businesses to access Malaysia’s multilingual talent while benefiting from a flexible and scalable cross-border operating model.
Situated within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the Johor Bahru centre is expected to support growing demand from Singapore-based companies, global business services centres and multinational organisations expanding across Southeast Asia. Its proximity to Singapore also supports operational coordination, training and governance across sectors such as banking, fintech, travel and hospitality.
Digital Ecosystem and Future Growth
Andy Rangel, Chief Executive Officer of TP in Malaysia, said the expansion strengthens the company’s national footprint while providing access to skilled multilingual talent. He added that the new hub would help businesses combine artificial intelligence (AI) with human expertise to improve agility, scalability and operational resilience.
Malaysia’s growing digital services industry further supports the expansion. According to the Ministry of Digital, the country is home to 749 global business services (GBS) companies, with industry revenue projected to reach RM28.14 billion. Johor’s economic growth also positions the state as a potential hub for technology-enabled services and cross-border operations.
The new centre will initially serve a leading global e-commerce company, with further growth expected from multinational organisations and Singapore-based businesses. It will also support TP’s Revenue as a Service capabilities, helping companies expand sales and revenue operations through specialised talent, technology and AI-enabled solutions.
Beyond business expansion, the facility is expected to create opportunities for local talent to develop expertise in customer experience, digital operations and AI-enabled service delivery, strengthening Malaysia’s role in the regional digital economy.
