Hektar REIT Supports Community Welfare
Demonstrating its deep commitment to community welfare Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, acting as the manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar REIT), has pledged RM10,000 to the Dignity for Children Foundation Malaysia in celebration of World Food Day.
The sponsorship directly funds the Daily Meals Programme, ensuring that 100 underprivileged children receive daily, balanced meals throughout the month of October 2026. This initiative addresses a fundamental hurdle in child development: food insecurity. By providing consistent nutrition, Hektar REIT helps lay a strong foundation for both physical growth and academic success.
The programme provides freshly prepared meals from Monday to Friday at Dignity’s on-site kitchen. The menu is thoughtfully designed for dietary wellness, featuring wholesome meals like chicken fried rice, dhal curry and nasi lemak alongside healthy snacks such as milk, biscuits and fresh fruit.
Connecting Nutrition to Educational Development
Access to regular meals significantly enhances a student’s capacity to learn. By keeping hunger at bay, children can maintain high levels of concentration and energy, allowing them to engage fully in academic and vocational training provided by the foundation.
Hektar REIT has a strong track record of supporting community-centric programmes, focusing heavily on children and families near its properties. Sabrina Halim, Chief Operating Officer of Hektar Asset Management, noted that the collaboration reflects a dedication to creating nurturing environments. “We believe that meaningful community initiatives should go beyond providing short-term assistance by contributing towards lasting positive outcomes,” she remarked.
