BYD Sime Motors Unveils Upgraded 2026 BYD SEALION 7 Alongside New Dynamic Variant

KUALA LUMPUR – BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced the enhanced 2026 BYD SEALION 7, expanding its flagship D-segment electric SUV line-up with the all-new Dynamic variant alongside upgraded Premium and Performance models. The refreshed range is designed to meet the evolving needs of Malaysian drivers by offering greater accessibility, longer driving range, faster charging capabilities and an enhanced overall ownership experience.

The introduction of the new Dynamic variant makes the BYD SEALION 7 more accessible to a wider range of Malaysian customers, while the enhanced Premium and Performance variants benefit from larger battery capacity and improved charging capabilities. These upgrades are aimed at providing greater convenience for daily driving, longer range for extended journeys and increased confidence among EV owners.

Since its Malaysian debut in 2024, the BYD SEALION 7 has established itself as the country’s No. 1 D-segment electric SUV in 2025, with more than 6,300 units delivered nationwide. Building on its original tagline, “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined for Tomorrow”, the 2026 model now carries the promise, “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined FURTHER for Tomorrow”, reflecting the latest improvements in range, convenience, accessibility and ownership confidence.

The new Dynamic variant represents the latest step in making premium electric mobility more accessible. Equipped with a rear-wheel-drive configuration, the model produces 170 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque, while offering a driving range of up to 520 km based on the NEDC cycle. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, making it a practical option for everyday urban driving and longer trips.

Strong public and media interest at 1 Utama Shopping Centre as BYD Sime Motors officially launches the 2026 BYD SEALION 7 under the theme “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined FURTHER for Tomorrow”, introducing the new Dynamic variant alongside enhanced Premium and Performance models.

The enhanced Premium variant, meanwhile, now comes with a larger 91.39 kWh BYD Blade Battery, up from the previous 82.56 kWh capacity. This upgrade increases its NEDC driving range from 567 km to 650 km, while DC fast-charging capability has been raised from 150 kW to 230 kW, allowing drivers to spend less time charging and more time on the road.

For performance-oriented drivers, the AWD Performance variant delivers 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Despite its performance credentials, the model offers up to 600 km of NEDC driving range and is equipped with a 91.39 kWh BYD Blade Battery and 230 kW DC fast-charging capability. Its sporty character is further highlighted by red brake calipers and larger 245/45 R20 wheels.

All variants of the 2026 BYD SEALION 7 are equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery technology, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and intelligent connectivity features. Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the electric SUV integrates key vehicle systems to enhance safety, efficiency, driving range and low-temperature performance, while also providing a stronger vehicle structure for a safer and more refined driving experience.

The 2026 BYD SEALION 7 is available in several exterior colours, with all variants featuring a Black interior. The Premium variant also introduces the new Ultraviolet exterior colour, adding a distinctive and sophisticated touch to the flagship electric SUV. Other available colours include Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey and Cosmos Black, depending on the variant.

Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, also highlighted the company’s focus on delivering a comprehensive ownership experience beyond vehicle sales. BYD currently operates 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 aftersales facilities and 12 body and paint centres across Malaysia. The company has also introduced the BYD Certified Pre-Owned Programme, featuring the first BYD Certified showroom in the Asia-Pacific region.

In conjunction with the launch, BYD Sime Motors will host the BEYOND YOUR DRIVE Roadshow at GF Luxe, near Parkson, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, from 30 July to 2 August 2026, running daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Customers who book any BYD vehicle during the roadshow will receive RM200 in Charging Credits as an exclusive booking reward.

The 2026 BYD SEALION 7 also comes with a comprehensive warranty package comprising a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km high-voltage Blade Battery warranty and an eight-year or 160,000 km drive unit warranty. Customers will also receive complimentary accessories including a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Adapter and a Type 2 charging cable with a three-pin plug, further enhancing the practicality and convenience of EV ownership.
