KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 10 JULY 2026 — Malaysia is set to reinforce its position as a regional leader in sustainable energy with the return of the International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2026, scheduled to take place on 11 and 12 August at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Organised by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia and hosted by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), this year’s summit carries the theme “Envisioning Sustainable Energy Beyond Borders”, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in advancing clean energy and sustainable development. The summit is expected to gather policymakers, industry leaders, investors, financial institutions, researchers, technology providers and energy practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas and explore solutions that support the global energy transition. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof is scheduled to officiate the event, underscoring the Malaysian government’s commitment to accelerating sustainable energy initiatives and strengthening international partnerships. SEDA Malaysia Chief Executive Officer and Organising Chair of ISES 2026, Dato’ Hamzah Hussin, said the summit aims to be more than just a platform for discussion. According to him, ISES 2026 is designed to transform ideas into collaborations, collaborations into investments, and investments into long-term sustainable growth that benefits both Malaysia and the wider region. He also stressed that issues such as climate change, energy security and technological advancement require collective action beyond national borders. Building on the success of previous editions, ISES has grown into one of the region’s recognised platforms for sustainable energy dialogue and policy engagement. The previous summit attracted participants from 24 countries, involved representatives from 52 embassies and welcomed more than 5,800 registered participants while generating media exposure valued at over RM10 million. This growing international interest reflects Malaysia’s expanding influence in promoting sustainable energy solutions. This year’s edition is expected to deliver even greater regional impact through strategic collaborations with international media platforms, helping to expand conversations on energy transition across Southeast Asia and beyond. By bringing together governments, industry players, financial institutions and investors, ISES 2026 seeks to create new opportunities for partnerships that can accelerate innovation, investment and sustainable economic growth. Registration and partnership opportunities for ISES 2026 are now open, with organisers encouraging stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem to participate. As countries continue pursuing lower-carbon economies, the summit aims to serve as a catalyst for meaningful collaboration, driving practical solutions that support a cleaner, more resilient and sustainable future.
