The Skechers Friendship Walk and Run 2026 reached a new milestone this year with a record-breaking participation of 10,000 runners and walkers, marking a 25% increase compared to the previous edition. Held at Anjung Floria, Putrajaya, the ninth edition of the event brought together fitness enthusiasts, families and community members in a vibrant celebration of health, friendship and social impact. Organised by Skechers, the Comfort Technology Company™ and global leader in lifestyle and performance footwear, the event continues to strengthen its position as one of Malaysia’s most anticipated community fitness gatherings. This year’s edition also introduced an exciting new addition to its lineup with the 21KM Half Marathon category, expanding the event’s appeal to more competitive and experienced runners. Alongside this, the 10KM Competitive Individual Run and the 5KM Leisure Walk provided inclusive options for participants of all fitness levels. The event successfully created a shared space where seasoned athletes, casual runners and families could come together, reinforcing the spirit of unity and active living that defines the Skechers Friendship Walk and Run. Ms. Zann Lee, Managing Director of Skechers Southeast Asia, welcoming participants with an opening speech at Skechers Friendship Walk And Run 2026 According to Skechers Southeast Asia Managing Director Zann Lee, the significant increase in participation reflects the growing community support behind the event since its inception. She noted that the introduction of the half marathon category represents Skechers’ commitment to evolving alongside its participants by offering greater challenges and more diverse running experiences. The event, she added, has now become a meaningful fixture in Malaysia’s fitness calendar. The race flag-off saw the Skechers management team leading participants through the 21KM and 10KM categories, while the race village came alive with brand activations, cheering crowds and interactive experiences. Participants were also introduced to Skechers’ latest footwear innovations, including the Hands Free Slip-ins® Max Cushioning® Glide-Step® and the Skechers AERO Razor collections, both designed to enhance comfort and performance across different levels of activity. Skechers contributed RM10,000 to the National Cancer Council of Malaysia (MAKNA), supporting underprivileged cancer patients and their families. The donation was presented during the event in a symbolic cheque handover, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to community welfare and social impact. MAKNA representatives expressed appreciation for the contribution, highlighting its role in helping subsidise treatment costs and provide essential support services to those in need. The stage came alive with energy as the Windrunners guided participants through cool-down stretches, followed by the Zumba team leading the Move & Groove session The event atmosphere extended beyond the race itself, with post-run activities including stretching sessions led by Windrunners and a lively Zumba workout that brought participants together in celebration. These activities transformed the race village into a community wellness hub, encouraging recovery, movement and shared enjoyment among participants of all ages. Winners in the various Open and Veteran divisions received cash prizes, Skechers vouchers and sponsored gifts from supporting partners. The 21KM men’s Open title was claimed by Mohamad Nur Radzman, while Chew Jia Qi emerged victorious in the women’s category. In the 10KM race, standout performances included Prabudass Krishnan in the men’s Open division and Nurul Juliana Shakira in the women’s Open division, showcasing strong competitive spirit throughout the event. The top three male and female winners of the 10KM Competitive Individual Run Open Category The highlight of the day came with the announcement of the grand lucky draw winner, who received a year’s supply of Skechers footwear, adding an exciting finale to the celebration. As participants gradually left Anjung Floria, the event concluded on a high note, leaving behind a sense of accomplishment, community connection and anticipation for the next edition.
