“JUNE” STARRING AARON KWOK SET FOR WORLD PREMIERE AT THE 9TH MIFFEST, FEATURING MAGGIE CHEUNG HO-YEE

Fans of Hong Kong entertainment have another reason to look forward to the 9th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) this July, as veteran TVB actress Maggie Cheung Ho-yee is set to make a special appearance at the World Premiere of June (六月的秘密). The highly anticipated family drama, starring Aaron Kwok and Miao Miao, is expected to be one of the major highlights of this year’s festival programme.

Best known for her extensive career with Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), Maggie Cheung Ho-yee has remained a beloved figure among audiences across Asia for decades. Her attendance at MIFFest offers fans and members of the media a rare opportunity to see the veteran actress in person while celebrating the debut of a film that explores universal themes of family, identity and resilience.

Directed by Wang Yang, June tells the story of a gifted young cellist whose life is transformed after discovering a long-hidden family secret. Set against the vibrant backdrop of New York’s Chinatown, the film combines emotional storytelling with cultural depth as its protagonist navigates a journey of self-discovery and healing.
