YEF 2024: Executing the National Plan for Empowering Youth Economy.

The ‘Youth Empowerment Fair 2024’ event, which starts at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center here tomorrow, is ready to provide various solutions and recommendations in dealing with current youth issues by lining up great figures from Cabinet Ministers, corporate figures and sportsmen especially in realizing the National Youth Economic Empowerment Plan that was announced by the Government last year.

The National Youth Economic Empowerment Plan aims to increase the employability of youth for those who are unemployed and involved in the informal employment sector in line with the aspirations of YEF 2024, organized by Yayasan Go-Strong Malaysia.

“YEF24 continues the national effort in building bridges and discourse spaces for youth and leaders for Malaysia’s progress this year by fighting for the three main pillars of Education, Career and Entrepreneurship along with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It offers 10 free educational forums, workshops and intimate discussion sessions for all Malaysians.

“These forums cover various topics to equip the youth with knowledge and skills that are important for personal and professional development. Forums on entrepreneurship, digital literacy, transformative education and so on will be presented by Malaysian local industry experts,” according to the chief organizer of YEF 2024 in a media statement here today.

After the inauguration, the first day’s program will also witness the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad leading a discussion in promoting ‘zero emission’ together with Puan Sharifah Bakar Ali, Head of ESG UEM Edgenta; Ir. Ts. Dr. Gideon Tan Xiang Yee, Head of Group Transformation of FGV Holdings; and Dr. Chen Wei Nee, who is the Head of Carbon Market at BURSA Malaysia.

This will be followed by a segment with Finance Minister II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, who will discuss the topic of Accelerating Malaysia’s Sustainable Future together with youth figure, Mr. Kamil Munim, who is also Political Secretary to Dato’ Sri Anwar and corporate figure Tan Sri Vincent Tan, who is the Founder of Berjaya Corporation.

The national professional rider, Jazeman Jaafar, who is now the Executive Director of Persona Energy and the Director of the Technology Transfer Apprenticeship Program (TTAP), will also share his knowledge and experience in a discussion session on ‘Transformative Education for a Sustainable Digital’ together with Mr. Danial Rahman, Director of Sunway; Dr Azni Zarina Taha, Deputy Director of the Universiti Malaya Consultancy Centre, and Ms Prema Ponnudurai, Head of Department, School of Media and Communication, Taylors University.

The program of the second day of YEF 2024 on Sunday, February 4 will begin with a talk by the Minister of Communications, YB Fahmi Fadzil in relation to the title ‘Tech Talk, Malaysian Communication Summit- Charting the Future Together’, which will also be attended by the President of the PRCA, Prof. Mr. Mohd Said Bani.

This will be followed by a discussion with Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and Mohd Salem Kailany, Chief Executive Officer of UDA Holdings on ‘Youthpreneur – Originality Is Key To Business Sustainability’.
