As commerce across Asia Pacific becomes increasingly connected, intelligent and driven by digital identity, Mastercard is bringing industry leaders together to explore the technologies and innovations shaping the future of payments. Financial institutions, payment partners, merchants, policymakers and other industry stakeholders are increasingly looking for practical solutions to prepare for the payment ecosystem of 2030, where trust, interoperability, data, security and convenience will play an increasingly important role. With AI agents beginning to influence how consumers discover products, make purchasing decisions and complete transactions, the industry is also placing greater emphasis on ensuring these emerging experiences remain secure, consumer-controlled and scalable.

At the Mastercard Experience Center in Singapore, Mastercard is providing partners with an interactive environment to explore the future of connected commerce through hands-on experiences and collaborative sessions. As one of seven Mastercard Experience Centers globally, the Singapore hub enables financial institutions, fintech companies, merchants and partners to gain practical insights into emerging payment technologies and understand how these innovations can be applied to real-world customer and business experiences.

Visitors can experience the latest edition of Mastercard’s award-winning Innovation Circuit, an immersive workshop journey now in its fourth edition. This year’s theme, “Next Lap in Payments,” examines how agentic commerce, trusted digital identity, tokenization, interoperability and AI-powered network intelligence are coming together to create a new generation of secure, seamless and convenient commerce experiences.

Inspired by the world of motor racing and Mastercard’s sponsorship of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, the Innovation Circuit uses the themes of speed, precision and agility to demonstrate the capabilities needed to accelerate the future of payments. Through interactive experiences, participants can explore how different technologies work together across the entire commerce journey, from identity verification and onboarding to product discovery, payment authorisation, fraud prevention and data-driven optimisation.

The Innovation Circuit is structured around three key “pitstops” focused on trust, experience and intelligence. In Igniting Innovation, participants explore the foundations of trust and digital identity through biometric onboarding, tokenised credential sharing and consent-driven identity models. These experiences demonstrate how secure digital identities can empower consumers to authorise AI agents to act on their behalf while maintaining transparency and control over personal data.

The second experience, Shifting Gears, focuses on the evolving commerce journey by following a sports fan through an interactive experience covering ticket purchases, merchandise, upgrades and payments. Participants interact with AI-powered shopping and concierge agents capable of assisting with event bookings, providing location-based alerts, recommending upgrades and facilitating merchandise purchases. The experience highlights how multiple AI agents could work together across merchants and payment methods to deliver more personalised and seamless transactions.

The final pitstop, Powering Growth, explores the data and intelligence infrastructure operating behind every transaction. Participants can follow a transaction from initiation through optimisation and see how data, AI models, tokenisation and network intelligence can work together to identify fraud signals, improve payment approval rates and generate actionable business insights while maintaining privacy and security.

According to Mastercard, the Mastercard Experience Center in Singapore provides partners with an opportunity to better understand how technologies such as identity, tokenisation, fraud prevention and payment innovation can work together to create trusted and commercially viable commerce experiences. The initiative reflects the growing need for businesses to move beyond individual technologies and consider how these capabilities can connect across the entire customer journey.

Mastercard has also announced plans to introduce new Innovation Centers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Tokyo, Japan later this year. The new locations are expected to bring Mastercard’s innovation experiences closer to customers and partners across the region through immersive storytelling and collaborative live-test environments tailored to local market needs. With additional locations planned across Asia Pacific, the expansion is set to further support industry collaboration and exploration of emerging technologies as businesses prepare for the next era of connected commerce and digital payments.
