Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature on the Samsung Health Monitor app, now available to users in Malaysia. This feature enhances the app’s existing ECG and Blood Pressure monitoring capabilities, allowing Galaxy Watch users to better understand their heart health.
The IHRN feature works continuously in the background to monitor heart rhythms, identifying potential signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib) and alerting users accordingly. This real-time tracking provides valuable insights into cardiovascular health, complementing the app’s on-demand ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
Since launching in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app has reached 74 markets globally, with more than 15 million Galaxy Watch users utilizing the platform to monitor their heart health directly from their wrists. The app’s continuous tracking helps users stay informed about their blood pressure and heart rhythms.
“Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of mortality worldwide, and we are dedicated to equipping our users with essential tools for heart health monitoring,” said Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung Electronics. “With features like IHRN, we aim to provide Galaxy Watch users with seamless access to important health insights, enabling them to stay informed around the clock.”
