Penang, Malaysia is set to become the focal point of Asia’s industrial evolution with the launch of a groundbreaking four-in-one expo this July. NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd has officially announced the 5th Edition of Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX) and the 4th Edition of Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX). These established events will now be co-located with two new dynamic expos: Semiconductor Expo Asia (SMAX) and Asia Sustainable Factories Expo (ASFAX). This convergence creates a powerful industrial showcase encompassing electronics, manufacturing, semiconductors, and sustainability.
The announcement was made during a press conference officiated by Penang’s Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo A/L Karpal Singh. His keynote was accompanied by remarks from NRG Exhibitions’ CEO, Mr. Kenny Yong, who highlighted the strategic role Penang plays in advancing next-generation industries. The event marks a significant milestone in positioning Penang as a forward-looking industrial hub. Stakeholders from various sectors have expressed enthusiasm over the expo’s potential to catalyze innovation and investment.
Scheduled for 23–25 July 2025, the expos will be held at the state-of-the-art Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang. The venue is expected to host over 8,000 trade visitors and more than 200 leading brands from over 40 countries. Attendees will witness cutting-edge technological exhibits, live demonstrations, and futuristic applications, including those driven by AI and large language models. This initiative aims to bridge global expertise with regional industrial ambitions.
Each expo has a distinct focus, offering attendees a diverse and comprehensive view of the industrial value chain. EMAX continues to highlight electronics manufacturing, while PMAX caters to general manufacturing and industrial solutions. SMAX, a brand-new initiative, will spotlight the semiconductor ecosystem—from chip design to materials. ASFAX, another new addition, will center on sustainable manufacturing, green building solutions, and ESG-driven technologies.
The creation of SMAX and ASFAX signifies a strategic expansion of the original EMAX series. These additions are designed to reflect the evolving demands of the industrial landscape, particularly in the areas of digitalization and sustainability.
