Huawei Powers the Future: 5G-A and Scenario-Based AI Usher in a New Era of Intelligent Connectivity

At MWC Shanghai 2025, Huawei is showcasing its latest advancements in 5G Advanced (5G-A) technologies and scenario-based AI services, highlighting how these innovations can unlock new value across services, infrastructure, and operations. Themed “Accelerating the Intelligent World,” Huawei’s exhibit brings together global carriers, industry leaders, and partners to explore new growth opportunities in telecom by leveraging AI-driven solutions.

Central to Huawei’s showcase are developments in three key areas. In the services segment, Huawei is revealing the success of multiple 5G-A monetization projects and AI application scenarios, carried out in collaboration with China’s three major telecom carriers. These projects reflect a broader push to personalize user experiences and derive real value from 5G-A networks.

On the infrastructure front, Huawei is presenting recent case studies from its carrier partners on building AI-centric networks and enabling AI computing hubs that support business success. The company is also introducing its latest AI Ultra-Broadband (AI UBB) solution, which spans from home broadband to transport networks. With built-in computing capabilities across all network layers, this solution is designed to accelerate network autonomy and improve AI performance, ultimately enriching user experience and fueling enterprise growth.

In terms of operations, Huawei and its partners are sharing best practices in intelligent wireless and home broadband network operations. These initiatives aim to enhance network maintenance, improve computing resource utilization, and support AI services for both training and inference. The evolution of intelligent operations is seen as vital for maintaining high service quality and operational efficiency.

Commercial deployment of 5G-A is rapidly gaining traction across China, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. In China alone, 5G-A services are now available in over 300 cities, with more than 10 million active users. Mobile plans that include premium 5G-A offerings are accessible in over 30 provinces. These rollouts are enabling new experience monetization models, paving the way for more immersive digital lifestyles, smart transportation solutions, and AI-powered manufacturing.

Huawei’s Deputy Chairman and Rotating Chairman, Eric Xu, addressed the industry’s future in his keynote speech, acknowledging that the telecom sector, after nearly four decades of rapid expansion, has now entered a phase of steady development. Xu outlined four potential pathways for future growth: adapting to changing user needs, driving HD video consumption, integrating 5G into connected vehicles, and expanding FTTR (Fiber To The Room) solutions to support micro and small businesses in the AI era. He emphasized that each carrier must forge its own path based on its unique market dynamics and environment, while reaffirming Huawei’s commitment to supporting tailored, sustainable growth.

As AI innovation disrupts the communications industry, carriers are in a strong position to lead this transformation. With strengths in cloud, networking, computing, and intelligence, they are reimagining their role not just as service providers, but as creators of AI-powered experiences. This shift includes upgrading smart homes with coordinated AI-driven devices, integrating AI agents with vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies for enhanced in-car experiences, and delivering enterprise AI solutions that streamline operations and boost productivity.

Huawei’s exhibit in Hall N1 at MWC Shanghai 2025 reflects the company’s vision of a smarter, more connected world, where 5G-A and scenario-based AI services form the backbone of future digital experiences. As new monetization models gain ground and AI adoption deepens, the industry stands on the brink of a transformative new chapter one that redefines how people, devices, and businesses interact in the intelligent era.
