Huawei has made waves at GITEX GLOBAL 2024, one of the largest tech exhibitions in the world, with the launch of a range of innovative digital and intelligent transformation solutions. With the theme Accelerate Industrial Digitalization and Intelligence, the company, as a Diamond Sponsor, has showcased its commitment to driving the future of industrial transformation across a wide array of sectors. The event, held from October 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, served as a platform for Huawei to unveil its latest advancements that aim to empower industries to transition into the intelligent era.

On the opening day, Huawei hosted the Industrial Digital and Intelligent Transformation Summit, where key leaders from the company laid out their vision for the future. Li Peng, Corporate Senior Vice President and President of ICT Sales & Service at Huawei, delivered a powerful keynote speech outlining Huawei’s comprehensive strategy to accelerate digitalization and industrial intelligence. “We are leveraging our strengths in networking, storage, computing, cloud, and energy to build a new foundation for digital and intelligent infrastructure,” Li said. He emphasized Huawei’s commitment to creating adaptable, scalable solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of various industries.

Li pointed to the success Huawei has already achieved in sectors such as government, finance, transportation, electric power, and manufacturing. “We have compiled more than 100 case studies that demonstrate how customers can fast-track their digital and intelligent transformation,” Li added. This extensive research, he explained, serves as a blueprint for businesses looking to modernize and harness the power of advanced technology to improve operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Huawei’s approach to digital transformation is deeply rooted in collaboration. “Our success would not be possible without our partners,” Li stressed. At the heart of Huawei’s strategy is the development of a strong partner ecosystem that fosters innovation and enables companies to work together in driving change. Huawei has established 14 OpenLabs globally, which serve as hubs for joint innovation with local solution partners.

These OpenLabs, along with over 30 local solution partners in the UAE, have been instrumental in developing more than 20 solutions to meet regional industry needs. This collaborative effort, according to Li, is key to creating lightweight, marketable solutions that allow partners to serve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more efficiently.

Huawei is also heavily invested in cultivating local digital talent. The company recognizes that a well-developed talent ecosystem is critical to sustaining the digital transformation journey. “We are working to ensure that we are building a local talent pipeline capable of driving innovation and ensuring the long-term success of our digital ecosystems,” Li noted. Huawei’s initiatives in talent development are designed to support the creation of a robust industrial ecosystem that promotes sustainable growth and innovation.

Leo Chen, Corporate Senior Vice President and President of Enterprise Sales at Huawei, also took to the stage to highlight the transformative role that next-generation technologies like AI and 5G-A will play in the industrial sector. “AI and 5G-A are not just buzzwords—they are the driving forces behind the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” Chen said. These technologies, he explained, are set to revolutionize industries by significantly increasing productivity while simultaneously solving critical business pain points.

Chen acknowledged that this transformation comes with its challenges, particularly in areas like infrastructure development and talent readiness. However, he emphasized Huawei’s unique position in the market, with its full-stack capabilities in connectivity, storage, computing, and cloud services, to assist businesses in overcoming these hurdles. Huawei’s ongoing investment in AI-ready infrastructure is a key part of its strategy to help customers build intelligent networks that are prepared for the future.

At the summit, Huawei also launched its Amplifying Industrial Digitalization & Intelligence Practice white paper. This document includes over 100 success stories from more than 20 industries, providing a roadmap for businesses looking to adopt digital technologies and navigate their own transformation journeys.

A major highlight of Huawei’s presence at GITEX GLOBAL 2024 was the unveiling of a series of solutions aimed at accelerating the digital and intelligent transformation of ten industries. These include public utilities, transportation, finance, electric power, oil & gas, mining, retail, education, and healthcare. Each of these solutions has been meticulously designed to address specific industry challenges and provide tangible benefits in terms of efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

Some of the key solutions introduced at the summit included:

  • National Government Cloud Solution: This solution is aimed at helping governments enhance operational efficiency, streamline services, and deliver better public services through advanced cloud infrastructure.
  • Medical Technology Digitalization Solution 2.0: This solution offers healthcare providers the tools they need to digitize operations, improve patient outcomes, and optimize healthcare delivery.
  • Intelligent Oil & Gas Field Solution: By leveraging AI and IoT, this solution helps oil and gas companies optimize field operations, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
  • Unstaffed Open-Pit Mine Solution: Designed for the mining industry, this solution uses AI and automation to increase operational safety and efficiency, reducing the need for on-site personnel.
  • Smart Retail Solution: This solution empowers retailers to leverage data-driven insights to enhance customer experiences and optimize inventory management.

David Shi, Vice President of ICT Marketing and Solution Sales at Huawei, emphasized the importance of building robust ICT infrastructure to underpin industrial transformation. He highlighted two critical aspects of Huawei’s approach: accelerating the popularization of ICT infrastructure and speeding up monetization. “By making ICT infrastructure more accessible and easier to integrate, we enable more businesses, regardless of size, to benefit from digital transformation,” Shi said.

Huawei has developed a portfolio of user-friendly products, such as the HUAWEI eKit, to help customers integrate ICT infrastructure into their operations more seamlessly. Shi also noted that accelerating monetization by enabling service innovation and creating value through digital technologies is central to Huawei’s strategy for helping businesses thrive in the intelligent era.

As GITEX GLOBAL 2024 progresses, Huawei continues to demonstrate its leadership in industrial digitalization and intelligence. Through its comprehensive suite of solutions and a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and talent development, Huawei is positioning itself as a key player in the future of industrial transformation. Ernest Zhang, President of Global Partner and Commercial & Distribution for Enterprise Sales at Huawei, summed it up: “Collaborating with Huawei means more growth opportunities, greater operational efficiency, and stronger AI capabilities.”

With its forward-looking vision and focus on partnership, Huawei aims to help industries worldwide succeed in the intelligent era, ensuring that businesses can grow together and create a brighter, more connected future.
