In conjunction with Merdeka month, Honor of Kings, the world’s most-played mobile MOBA, has partnered with Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia to highlight Malaysia’s rich arts and cultural heritage through a special collaboration with Mimifly. The celebrated singer, songwriter and producer makes her return with a new single titled Nara, a powerful anthem that serves as the centrepiece of this cultural celebration.
The Merdeka initiative draws inspiration from traditional elements such as the rhythm of gamelan, the beauty of pantun and the timelessness of folklore. By blending heritage with modern creativity, the project reflects Honor of Kings’ broader commitment to showcasing Southeast Asian artistry and storytelling to a global audience.
Nara, which will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music from 15 August 2025, is inspired by the legendary figure of Puteri Gunung Ledang and embodies wisdom, courage and resilience. The track reflects the spirit of a srikandi, a female warrior who symbolises both precision and strength, echoing the heroic narratives within Honor of Kings. Mimifly also incorporates her signature use of sign language in the music video, reinforcing a message of unity and inclusivity while inspiring listeners to move forward with courage and self-belief.

The single blends pop and hip hop with Mimifly’s distinctive Nusantara influences, creating a sound that is both contemporary and rooted in tradition. Produced together with the PriiBoMii team, the track carries chant-like hooks that are designed to awaken the inner warrior in every listener. This creative synergy between music and culture allows the campaign to resonate far beyond the boundaries of entertainment and transform into a collective moment of pride.
As part of the celebration, Honor of Kings will introduce a new in-game skin on 28 August featuring a reimagined Puteri Gunung Ledang. The design incorporates elements such as digital songket patterns and visual motifs drawn from Nusantara heritage, giving players a chance to engage with Malaysia’s cultural identity in a fresh and meaningful way. The skin will be available for free until 9 September, offering an immersive experience that bridges modern gaming with traditional storytelling.
The campaign will also extend across social media platforms with the launch of the #NARAofHOK dance challenge, where fans are invited to recreate Mimifly’s signature moves from the music video, including her unique sign language choreography. Additional Malaysian-themed updates in the game will include character voiceovers in local dialects, limited-time player titles and exclusive stickers, further strengthening the cultural connection for players.
This initiative represents more than new music or visual updates. It is a celebration of Malaysian identity and creativity in spaces where young people gather, connect and express themselves. With millions of active players worldwide, Nara is expected to echo far beyond the gaming universe and bring Malaysia’s cultural pride to the global stage.
Players and fans can be part of the celebration by logging in between 28 August and 9 September to claim the free Puteri Gunung Ledang skin, by watching the official music video and behind-the-scenes content on Honor of Kings Malaysia’s social media channels, and by joining the dance challenge using the hashtags #NARAofHOK #BangkitHOK #HOKBOLEH #HonorOfKings.
