Kuala Lumpur, 21 July 2026 – Castrol Malaysia has launched eHailing Heroes, an initiative aimed at helping e-hailing drivers manage rising vehicle maintenance expenses while ensuring their vehicles remain reliable for daily operations.

The 12-month programme is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Persatuan Pengguna Pengangkutan Awam Malaysia (4PAM), as part of efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s tourism readiness ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

The programme was unveiled during a press conference at Rom 8 Studio, officiated by Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, Senior Director of Advertising and Digital, Tourism Malaysia, and Head of Secretariat for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

During the first stage of the programme, approximately 3,000 e-hailing vehicles will receive access to benefits including subsidised Castrol MAGNATEC servicing, vehicle branding support and Castrol Auto Service workshop facilities nationwide.

Drivers who successfully complete 8,000 kilometres of verified mileage will qualify for an RM80 Castrol MAGNATEC service package e-voucher, which covers engine oil, oil filter and labour.

As e-hailing continues to play a bigger role in Malaysia’s transportation network, drivers have become an important part of the visitor experience. From airport transfers to city tours and local discoveries, e-hailing drivers help create the first impression of Malaysia for many tourists.

Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia said that supporting drivers is part of ensuring visitors enjoy safe, comfortable and memorable journeys throughout their stay in Malaysia.

Castrol Malaysia recognises that many drivers spend extended hours on the road, dealing with traffic jams, repeated short journeys and frequent engine restarts. These conditions make proper vehicle care essential for both safety and income stability.

Castrol MAGNATEC was chosen for the programme due to its ability to support vehicles operating under demanding urban conditions. The engine oil’s intelligent molecules help protect engine parts and provide 50% better protection against warm-up and restart wear*.

Gan Wee Kiong explained that eHailing Heroes allows Castrol to bring its technology and service network closer to drivers who depend on their vehicles every day.

Ajit Johl from 4PAM said passenger satisfaction is closely linked to vehicle reliability, adding that supporting drivers also benefits the wider public transportation experience.

In addition to the programme, Castrol will introduce a 10% discount across its passenger car engine oil range from August to encourage more Malaysians to maintain their vehicles regularly.

Through eHailing Heroes, Castrol Malaysia continues to support drivers, strengthen road confidence and contribute towards smoother journeys for Malaysians and international visitors during VM2026.
