Accor, a global hospitality leader, and Tropicana Corporation Berhad (“Tropicana”), one of Malaysia’s leading property developers, have signed a hotel management agreement for Mercure Living Genting Highlands. This strategic collaboration brings together Accor’s global hospitality expertise with Tropicana’s experience in integrated township development to introduce a new extended-stay hospitality concept in one of Malaysia’s most popular highland destinations. The partnership marks another important milestone for Tropicana as the company continues to expand its hospitality portfolio while creating new recurring income opportunities. Through this collaboration, homeowners will gain access to a professionally managed branded hospitality asset supported by Accor’s international standards, operational expertise and global loyalty ecosystem. Mercure Living Genting Highlands will be integrated into TwinPines Serviced Suites at Tropicana Grandhill, a 112-acre wellness-focused precinct within the 596-acre Tropicana WindCity township in Genting Highlands. Scheduled to open in 2028, the development will feature 1,443 fully furnished suites designed to cater to the needs of long-stay guests, leisure travellers and homeowners seeking a comfortable highland lifestyle. The introduction of the Mercure brand further strengthens Tropicana WindCity’s position as a premium destination that combines wellness, lifestyle and hospitality. By blending the comfort of residential living with hotel-style services, Mercure Living Genting Highlands aims to offer guests a flexible and convenient stay experience while showcasing the unique charm and culture of Genting Highlands. Designed for modern travellers, Mercure Living offers spacious accommodation with kitchen and dining facilities, alongside lifestyle amenities that allow guests to enjoy a home-like experience while staying connected to the destination. The development also reflects Mercure’s focus on local discovery by encouraging visitors to explore the surrounding culture, attractions and natural beauty of Genting Highlands. Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Accor Asia, said the project represents an exciting opportunity to grow Accor’s extended-stay offering in Malaysia while working with a trusted local developer. “As travellers continue to look for greater flexibility, comfort and authentic local experiences, we believe Mercure Living Genting Highlands is well positioned to meet these evolving needs while supporting the continued growth of Genting Highlands as a leisure destination,” he said. Meanwhile, Ixora Ang, Managing Director, Marketing & Sales and Business Development of Tropicana, shared that the collaboration reflects Tropicana’s commitment to creating sustainable developments with long-term value. She said the integration of Mercure Living within TwinPines Serviced Suites represents Tropicana’s vision of creating future-ready communities that combine wellness, connectivity and quality living through a partnership with a globally recognised hospitality brand. Mercure Living Genting Highlands will feature a range of facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, executive lounge, multipurpose function hall, heated swimming pool, fitness centre and lifestyle amenities designed to support longer stays. Located within Tropicana Grandhill, the development forms part of Tropicana WindCity, an integrated township spanning 596 acres across three freehold precincts. The township combines residential, hospitality, recreational and lifestyle offerings to create a vibrant destination for residents, investors and visitors. With the addition of Mercure Living Genting Highlands, Accor continues to strengthen its presence in Malaysia. The group currently operates 28 hotels with more than 7,300 rooms and has 10 properties in its development pipeline representing over 2,600 rooms. This latest signing adds another 1,443 rooms to Accor’s future growth plans in the country.
