The 2022 IFMA World Youth Muay Thai Championship

The peaceful settlement of the 2022 IFMA Youth World Championships, which supposedly occurred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 9 to August 21, 2022, boosted the sport’s attractiveness.

The annual capstone IFMA event for youth athletes included cultural exchange, athletic and social meetings, stakeholder training and learning courses, and, of course, its iconic youth world championship.

This year’s Youth World Championships featured combat contests across all weight categories of the Youth Divisions, as well as solo and mixed team matches in the Wai Kru and Mai Muay categories.

The major Anti-Doping World Conference and the IFMA World Youth Conference on the topic of Fair Play kicked things off. Over 600 youths from numerous federations gathered for this one-of-a-kind World Conference to discuss crucial problems including fair play and Olympic standards.

Fair play was supervised not just by the local NADO, which conducted anti-doping tests on the medal winners, but also by IFMA’s top team of ITOs and Judges.

It was to ensure the future generation safe and to encourage the clean athletes who tried incredibly hard and made many commitments to make their goals come true in this year’s 2022 IFMA Youth World Championships.

Even after six days of competition, there were several close contests. Malaysia won the gold medal in the Youth U12 category. The Philippines won the gold medal in the Youth U15 & U18 tournament.

The IFMA Youth World Championships are much more than a sporting event. IFMA supports and values educational and cultural interaction. Day 8 of the IFMA YWC2022 was a relaxation day, with competitors having the opportunity to learn about and experience the main sights of Kuala Lumpur, one of the most affluent cities.

They learned the stories behind some of the city’s most famous monuments while strolling through the crowded streets and discovering peaceful beautiful corners.

On this last gold medal day, the champions of the 2022 World Youth Championships in KL proudly stood at the podium, flags aloft, listening to the anthem. Emotional moments of friendship, solidarity, and unity in diversity brought the youth of the world together in sports interaction.
