The Soaring of Firefly Maintenance Repair Organisation (FYMRO) Services to Greater Heights by Firefly Airlines

SUBANG JAYA- Firefly Airlines proudly announces the soaring of Firefly Maintenance Repair Organisation (FYMRO) services to greater heights for ATR72-500/600 by offering A check up to D check at its approved facilities in Subang and Kota Kinabalu.

The airline does its maintenance checks in house and as well as supports other airlines for aircraft maintenance. Besides maintenance checks, Firefly is approved in doing components repair and structural repair. Thus far, its clients include Hi Air, MasWing, Novoair, being the latest client and other local airlines. Firefly looks forward to have continuous growth in the coming years as a service provider.

Being in the market for 12 years providing connections to various points within Malaysia, Southern Thailand, Singapore and Sumatera of Indonesia, Firefly had its equal share in having unpleasant experiences with other MROs that are not operator-centric, before it started to do its in-house maintenance. With challenges faced regarding turn-around time (TAT) that caused delays and the work quality not being up to expectation, the airline had to make a quick and long-term decision.

“As an operator, we know the pains of an airline. Therefore, FYMRO provides solutions for ATR maintenance from the perspective of an airline. With more than 8 years of experience on ATR, and also being the only aircraft type that we have worked on throughout the years, we are very focused and we have the capabilities to share the best services from the point of view of an operator. It’s only wise to support other operators who are in the ATR community as well. A huge amount of work from the whole team will help create a business that we believe will quickly grow efficiently and profitably. We strongly believe that this agreement aims at improving passenger services through exchange of experiences between both the airlines.,” said Philip See, CEO of Firefly Airlines.

See is very pleased to have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Novoair Managing Director Mofizur Rahman in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 17 October 2019. According to this agreement, both the airlines will be working in the areas of training, engineering, aircraft maintenance and operational support to each other. Novoair currently operates to all domestic destination in Bangladesh with one international destination to Kolkata. “Besides having our team at Dhaka to sign the MoU, it was indeed a great pleasure to have the Novoair team over here in Malaysia visiting Firefly hangar, Firefly headquarters in Ara Damansara and Skypark Airport earlier this week. They received firsthand insights on Firefly operations and model.
