Rediscovering Tradition: Parkview Café Brings Back Classic Malaysian Flavours with Tiffin Tales

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where urban sophistication meets deep-rooted tradition, Parkview Café at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is offering something truly special. Until 30 June 2025, diners can experience Tiffin Tales, a thoughtfully crafted dining journey that celebrates Malaysia’s culinary heritage through a nostalgic lens.

Tiffin Tales pays homage to the iconic tiffin carrier, a household staple once found in homes across the country. More than just a container, the tiffin is a symbol of family, love and tradition. Parkview Café brings this cherished relic back to life with a rotating weekly menu of classic Malay and Nyonya dishes, served in authentic multi-tiered tiffin carriers. Designed for sharing, each set is suitable for two people and offers a fresh selection of flavours every week.

The menu includes time-honoured favourites such as Nyonya Pai Tee, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Nyonya Asam Udang, Nasi Bunga Telang, Rendang Daging Nyonya, Sambal Udang Petai, Nasi Bawang Putih and the much-loved dessert, Sago Gula Melaka. These dishes are not only delicious but are carefully selected to reflect the depth and diversity of Malaysian cuisine.

According to Executive Chef Hisham Jaafar, the inspiration behind Tiffin Tales came from a place of warmth and memory. He shared that many people have fond memories of their grandmothers opening tiffin carriers filled with lovingly prepared meals. The experience of unveiling each layer and discovering a new dish is what Tiffin Tales hopes to recreate. It is a tribute to the stories of Malaysian families, their celebrations, and their traditions.

Priced at RM90 nett per set, Tiffin Tales offers diners more than just a meal. It is a cultural experience, presented in a beautiful and intimate setting. Located on the first floor of the Centre, Parkview Café provides stunning panoramic views of the Petronas Twin Towers, blending traditional flavours with one of the city’s most iconic sights.

Tiffin Tales is available daily, and only a limited number of sets are prepared each day. Diners are encouraged to savour the experience, capture their favourite moments, and share them on social media using the hashtag #TiffinTales while tagging Parkview Café’s official Instagram at @pvc.klcc or Facebook at @parkview café.
