Power electronics players to converge at PCIM Asia 2023 with four key areas to be explored

From August 29 to August 31 in 2023, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre will host the largest power electronics trade show in Asia. In addition to the exhibition, the fair will focus on four sectors of the power electronics market, including, among other things, WBG devices, power electronics applications, new energy development, and electrical transportation technologies. Through discussions with a variety of themes and guest speakers from prominent academic institutions including Tsinghua, Tongji, and Shanghai Jiao Tong universities, these areas will be investigated.

PCIM Asia gathers for participants from every corner of the power electronics industry, including academics, researchers, manufacturers, suppliers, users, developers, engineers, investors and policy makers. Doing so, provides an opportunity for them to interact, share knowledge, experience, ideas, opinions, solutions and strategies to build partnerships that will shape the next generation of power electronics.

This year’s edition will once again bring together leading experts in power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management, with new exhibitors this year include onsemi, NOVOSENSE, Sharetek, Ganext, AOS, Redpower, Marching-power, Second-auto, Yangjie, JSAB, Advanced, Nippon Light Metal, Tianyu, Semi-Future and QUICK. The event also has continued support from the following five sponsors: Mitsubishi Electric, Semikron – Danfoss, Fuji Electric, Infineon and ROHM.

In addition to the exhibition, PCIM Asia 2023 is also set to provide an extensive examination of the latest advancements in the field of power electronics, featuring a diverse array of engaging topics through four concurrent forums.

Electrical transportation technology in the Industry 4.0 era

Speakers from well-known universities and research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Tongji-CRRC Joint Research Center for Innovation, Shanghai ABB Engineering, Shanghai University will conduct a thorough analysis of China’s shift towards electrical transportation technology. The event will unveil the latest developments in the field and conduct interactive discussions on topics such as domestic railways, electric vehicles, intelligent motion control, marine engineering and electric UAVs.

New energy development under the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals

This forum will explore the prospects and key technologies around new energy development and use under China’s “dual carbon” goals. New energy power generation technologies will be explored such as wind, solar, hydrogen and marine energy, electricity conversion, energy storage and control technologies.

Prominent industry experts, academics and manufacturing professionals will take part from organisations and institutions including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Lingang Power Electronics Research Institute, Sungrow, Hopewind, Shanghai Electric, SHPT and more.

Power Electronics Application Forum
In this forum sponsored by Indium, Nexperia and WeEn, over 30 exhibitors will analyse the latest power electronics application market trends, showcase new product releases, discuss industry best practices, conduct product demonstrations and engage in business matchmaking.
WBG Devices Zone & Forum
This event will focus on the Wide Bandgap Devices market, supply chain and technologies including SiC and GaN power devices.
