Nine BESarawak Employees Recognized for Their Dedication with Long Service Awards

BESarawak, a key player in Malaysia and Borneo’s business events sector, recently held a ceremony to celebrate the long-standing dedication of nine of its employees. The event, which recognised those with five to fifteen years of service, highlighted the individuals who have played a vital role in the company’s success and growth over the years.

The long-service awards ceremony took place during the preview of LEGACY30 – Business Events for a Sustainable Future Forum, held on 13 January 2025. More than 200 invited industry partners were present to witness the recognition of these dedicated employees.

Jacqueline Png Tiang Hua, the General Manager of Corporate Management, was honoured for her 15 years of service. Alicia anak Alias, Senior Research Executive, was celebrated for a decade of contributions, while eight others were acknowledged for five years of service. Among them were Bibi Afiqah binti Abdul Karim, Project Liaison Manager, Rose Bruce, Strategic Communications Manager, Farah Mardziah Zawani bte Abu Bakar, Research Executive (Corporate Meetings & Incentives), Chrislynn Siaw Ling Hui, Senior Bids Executive, Alexander anak Sigau, Bid Designer, Allistair Lorenzo James, Senior Digital Development Executive, and Gary Chan, Senior Marketing Executive.

During the ceremony, The Hon. Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, commended BESarawak’s employees, emphasizing that their contributions were crucial to not only the business events sector but also to the success of related industries like tourism and hospitality. He remarked, “The strength of Sarawak’s business events sector lies in its people, who play an equally important role in the success of related sectors such as tourism and hospitality. Their contributions extend beyond business events, driving wider impact in other economic sectors.”

Dato Sri Abang Haji Abdul Karim bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Chairman of BESarawak, also took the opportunity to express his admiration for the team’s growth. He shared, “Watching our team grow from strength to strength is an incredible opportunity. Their small actions and daily efforts are key to the larger picture of BESarawak’s success. Their expertise can help build a stronger and more impactful industry, thus creating a sustainable future for business events in Sarawak.”

Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak, reflected on the significance of the long-service awards, describing the recipients as “legacy makers.” She said, “These recipients are more than employees; they are legacy makers. Their extensive knowledge and experience continue to create a positive impact, and we believe they make excellent mentors for future business event leaders.
