Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford (Auto ConneXion) has been honored with the prestigious ‘Salute to Dealers’ 2025 award by Ford Motor Company. This global recognition highlights Auto ConneXion’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which has positively impacted communities for over a decade. As one of only six dealers worldwide to receive this award, it showcases their commitment to initiatives in education, healthcare, food security, and environmental sustainability. This achievement is a testament to their long-standing mission of making a meaningful difference in Malaysia.
Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of Auto ConneXion, expressed immense pride in receiving this award. “This recognition reaffirms our commitment to supporting Malaysian communities and driving social change through education, public health, and sustainability,” he said. As the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, Auto ConneXion continues to integrate CSR efforts into its corporate culture. Their mission is to provide lasting solutions for thriving and sustainable communities.
One of their impactful initiatives is the Clean Water Project in collaboration with MyFundAction, a youth-led NGO. This project aims to provide clean and safe water to underprivileged communities in Gerik, Perak. By installing advanced water tank systems, they ensure a long-term and reliable water supply for low-income households. A team of 30 Auto ConneXion volunteers dedicated their time and energy to improving the lives of around 70 Orang Asli families.
In addition to water security, Auto ConneXion is committed to addressing food insecurity. Through a partnership with The Lost Food Project, they have contributed USD45,000 (approximately RM200,000) to help redistribute surplus food to vulnerable communities. This initiative has resulted in the provision of approximately 855,000 nutritious meals to those in need. Their volunteers have also actively participated in food sorting and distribution activities to maximize impact.
Healthcare is another major focus area for Auto ConneXion’s CSR efforts. In collaboration with Yayasan Sime Darby and Ford Philanthropy, they recently launched the Ford Mobile Clinic. This initiative provides essential healthcare services to rural and flood-affected communities across Malaysia. Auto ConneXion donated a Ford Ranger for the project, while Ford Philanthropy contributed USD55,000 (about RM250,000) to equip the clinic with necessary medical supplies.
The Ford Mobile Clinic is fully equipped with life-monitoring devices, respiratory support tools, and diagnostic equipment. In 2025 alone, this mobile healthcare service is expected to benefit over 2,200 individuals. By bringing medical assistance directly to those in need, Auto ConneXion continues to enhance healthcare accessibility in underserved regions.
The impact of these initiatives has been widely recognized by community leaders. Isma Fildza Hazry, Chief Development Officer of MyFundAction, praised the partnership, stating, “Auto ConneXion’s support has been instrumental in uplifting marginalized communities. Their dedication brings hope and essential resources to those who need them most.”
Looking ahead, Auto ConneXion and Ford Philanthropy remain steadfast in their mission to support community welfare, food security, and healthcare access. Their continued efforts reflect a strong commitment to empowering communities and fostering positive social change across Malaysia.
