16 BARIS RETURNS WITH MORE SURPRISES

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 September 2022 –  What was once just a basic plan to find local hip-hop talent has turned into one of the popular arenas to find talented MCs and rappers.

Yes, 16 Baris, the brainchild of Malaysia’s president of Hip Hop, Joe Flizzow is set to make a comeback with more spectacular surprises.

The show has even received props from one of the Godfathers of hip hop, American rap legend Snoop Dogg who openly praised the show last year for the amazing good it has done in recognizing unsigned rappers and MCs.

This year it re-emerges with the same sole purpose of finding the best hip hop talents the country has to offer.

“Over the last two years, the hip hop scene has given birth to a new generation of rappers and this is their chance to showcase their talents with the participation of the existing hip hop community,” said Joe regarding the new season of 16 Baris.  

Joe also stressed that the show is an amazing platform as he knows it is a great base to discover the best of the best.

“The show allows contestants the opportunity to really be honest in their artform, and in true hip hop nature, there’s that element of only being given 16 bars to shine. So, if you have that one chance to shine, what would you do? And how would you take it?

“Every rapper new or established will have the chance to prove that they are the best. Every rapper must think or at least believe that they are the best to a certain degree and this show will let them take that chance to prove they are the best,” explained Joe.

The show has successfully unified the ever-growing hip hop scene and broken countless barriers.

“The show did not only break barriers racially but also defied borders going beyond local states and even other countries. This platform has spawned 16 Baris in Australia and even in Thailand. Knowing that the likes of hip hop legends such as Snoop Dogg and Lupe Fiasco follow 16 Baris is a huge testament to the greatness that the show has achieved,” said Joe with a lot of pride.

And this time around Joe mentioned that 16 Baris will definitely have more concerts. “It won’t be just one, maybe more. We will announce all this very soon. We even plan to go on tour across the country, with more shows across the nation. So, Malaysia this is your chance to shine and go for glory. Show us that you are the best at what you do on 16 Baris. Let’s go!” cried Joe at the end as he urged aspiring rappers to participate.

Auditions for Rappers and Beatmakers will take place from September 26th to October 7^th 2022. Interested candidates are to follow the following steps given.
